At the National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville, IA, farm toy collector and vendor Dave Copple was letting everyone know that farm toys will be coming again to the Peoria Farm Show. “They are coming back for a 2nd year,” said Copple.
Copple is setting up as one of the vendors at the farm toy show. In the business for over a decade, he shared how he got started. “Farm toy collecting began for me in 2000. Collecting International Harvester tractors and machinery the family owned and drove in the past was my main interest. I began Dave’s Toys vending business in 2004.”
It was this love of toys and the obvious setting of the machinery show that kicked this toy show off last year. The farm show’s first show began with a bang with the show offering 10 individual vendors with 37 tables of items.
To find the toy show, the vendors will be set up on the main floor in rooms 134, 135, and 136 which are between the Exhibit Hall and the Civic Center Theatre.
The machinery show is touted as Illinois’ largest indoor farm show with over 150,000 square feet of agricultural exhibits. Offering the latest and greatest in agriculture, the show offers over 350 companies, representing over 1000 product lines and services. This year they are expecting around 30,000 visitors to come and learn about farming and farm products in central Illinois.
Now, Farm toy collectors in central Illinois can rev up for the 2014 Peoria Farm Show and enjoy both the big machines and the model farm ones as well. For those looking for that special toy to go in a stocking or under the tree, collectors can find both the toy fit for a child or the collectible detailed model fit for the child still lingering in the adult collector! Bring your check books and your Christmas list, Santa may be flying in with just the collectible you have been looking for.
Antique tractor collectors will be interested in knowing there is an antique tractor show along with the toy show. The farm toy show and Peoria Farm Show will be held at the Peoria Civic Center on 201 W Jefferson Ave., in conjunction with the 2014 Peoria Farm Machinery Show on December 2-4th, 2014. This show is sponsored by the Peoria County Farm Bureau. Show hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admissions for both the Machinery show and the Farm Toy show will be free to all attendees.
