Jamie Dornan’s wife was so uncomfortable with the graphic sex scenes in “Fifty Shades of Grey” that she refuses to let her husband reprise the role of Christian Grey in the two planned sequels of this trilogy. This is what the headlines say today, but is this true or is it a rumor? Reports also indicate that the 32-year-old Northern Irishman has given in to his wife’s request, according to Tonight News on Feb. 25.
As with any big headline grabber, like the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey,” rumors are going to swirl and this appears to be just what is going on today. Rumors that Jamie Dornan is walking away from his role as Christian Grey under the orders of his wife have started a social media outrage among his fans. His rep reports that this is “pure conjecture, as the studio has not committed to a sequel as of yet,” According to E Online.
When that rumor gained speed this week, fans of Dornan took to the social networks expressing outrage not only towards him, but also his wife. It was an Australian magazine to first report that Dornan had quit the series because his wife is so uncomfortable having him do these graphic sex scenes, reports E Online.
It has been known for some time that the scenes in the movie were just too much for his wife, Amelia Warner. A few weeks back it was reported by the IB Times that his wife would not watch the “erotic” film.” Dornan told USA Today that his wife doesn’t want to watch the movie, but she supports him in his work.
He said that he “won’t be able to sit there” himself. He conveyed that it will be hard for enough for him to watch the movie, so he doesn’t want to put any pressure on his wife “either way.” Dornan said that his wife is “well aware that it is pretend,” but that doesn’t make it any easier to watch.
While reports saying that Dornan has walked away from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” saga are called “false” by his representative, his wording does leave some wiggle room for him to possibly do this at a later date. Again, E Online reports that his rep said that “All press reports are pure conjecture as the studio has not committed to a sequel as yet.”
This basically conveys that he hasn’t walked away from anything because it hasn’t been offered yet. His rep doesn’t seem to say that he won’t walk away from the role once it is offered. Could it be that Dornan is more interested in keeping his home life comfortable than becoming a big Hollywood star in the future?
