Gonzo from Good Mews Animal Foundation in metro Atlanta has a special message that he posted on the Good Mews Facebook page earlier this week:
Hi, it’s me, Gonzo. Man, is it cold outside!! I am so glad I am no longer living the life of a stray cat and am now nice and warm indoors. And it sure helps having my best friends, Sophia and Chardonnay to cuddle with. We love to keep each other warm on cold days.
So Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but not at Good Mews! We are celebrating the month of love all month long by offering a special adoption fee when someone adopts two cats. So if you adopt one of our mandatory pairs, or make a pair of your own, the adoption fee is $114 for both. A cool goody-bag also goes home with the pairs.
I would really love a home, because I have never had one before. I am really shy and afraid in new situations, so it will take a very special person to want to bring me home. It may take me awhile to come around, but just knowing you provided a home for a nice, shy cat should be rewarding enough, right? And I would feel so much better in a new home if one of my friends, Sophia or Chardonnay could come along. We are all shy, so it would be nice if we could stay together. I know asking someone to adopt three shy cats is crazy, but it sure would make us all happy! But even two of us would be cool.
I can’t promise I will one day be a lap cat, but you never know. We had two kitties that were at Good Mews for years get adopted and with a lot of time and patience, they did turn into lap cats. And nobody could pet them while they were at the shelter. So maybe if someone gave me a chance, I would one day sit in someone’s lap too.
So come by and meet me and my friends this weekend!

About Good Mews Animal Foundation
Good Mews is a cage-free, no-kill cat shelter offering an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area. They provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed over 7,000 cats in forever homes. The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
