Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Batman television series, and Warner Bros. and DC Comics are planning to celebrate in a big way. Aside from all the merchandise that’s been flooding the market, thanks to the release of the beloved ’60’s TV series, it seems that there are plans to bring the show’s stars, Adam West and Burt Ward back as the dynamic duo.
It seems that Burt Ward, who played Robin, the Boy Wonder, let the bat out of the cave during an interview with Mad Monster Radio, during a Mad Monster Party live appearance. During the interview, Burt and then Adam confirm that they will be lending their voice talents to not one, but two upcoming animated feature films.
One can only assume that the Dynamic Duo will face off against some of their most popular TV villains. Of the main villains, only Julie Newmar (who played Catwoman) is still around, so if they do indeed include The Joker, Penguin, and The Riddler, they will most likely use voice impersonators— If they don’t they’ll be disappointing a lot of fans of the show.
If they do decide to go in that direction, and have voice-alike actor play the main villains, I’d love to audition for the Joker role– So if any of the producers are reading this, I’m ready.
What about you guys? Are you stoked to have West and Ward return as the caped crusaders? Let us know what you think.
