The Holidays are among us, and one gift you may be thinking about giving this year is a new pet. Puppies and kittens are a very popular gift to receive during Christmas and with that gift comes some real responsibility. Are you and your family ready to take on that responsibility?
Many people receive a pet for the Holidays and after a while the fun wears off and then they just become a burden. So think long and hard before that purchase and if you do find it in your heart to take in a pet, rescues make the best pet. The Genesee County Animal Control and the volunteers Friends of Genesee County Animal Control can help you find the perfect pet.
The animals there are desperately in need of a forever home, and are more then excited to please you once you take them in. Many have had previous homes and their owners are no longer able to care for them. Some have been abandoned and left to fend for them selves, while others were found as strays wandering the streets of Flint with no owners claiming them. Besides sharing space at the shelter, they all have one more thing in common. They are all asking for a forever home.
This year give the gift that gives back, a forever companion that will provide unconditional love. And always be a responsible pet owner.
