The immense convenience of fast foods and unhealthy “healthy” foods has been a staple diet for millions of Americans everywhere. Ingredients that are toxic, difficult to read and to digest has consequences from consumers of all walks of life, it will eventually creep up to you. Supplements, especially protein powder and meal replacements are examples of good quick fixes to aid in fueling the body with essential nutrients.
In addition, there are products out there that are committed in providing your needs in healthier foods without much sacrifice, cutting out the artificial ingredients. We found a brand of protein powders that is dedicated in providing a protein powder that not only promotes lean muscle formation and boosts energy and stamina, but also nourishes like a healthy meal. We were sent a few samples of chocolate and vanilla flavors of Aloha Premium Protein.
Note: We are no way influenced by the company by any means.
The texture of the protein was well refined and smooth, similar to baby powder. The moment you shake up the powder via protein shaker, the drink is ready to go in seconds. Not to mention, the protein powder has a rich and creamy texture when mixed ¬¬with other ingredients such as bananas, berries and milk. The taste of the vanilla protein powder resonate a sweet cream/sweet milk flavor while it took a while to get used to the chocolate flavor because it had an earthy yet, floral taste. Despite of this, we liked the chocolate one the best.
The packaging of the powders comes in papery plastic pouches, which is prefect for the on the go types who still need a certain amount of protein. We have not seen the tin containers of the product. The look and feel of the pouches feels high quality and you know what you are getting from the benefits listed on the pouches.
The ingredients that make up for Aloha were impressive. While some protein powders are mostly made from whey protein, Aloha utilizes superfoods such as coconut water and cream, Sacha Inchi Protein and Pumpkin Seed Protein. The Inchi seeds are about 65% protein via composition and easy to digest, coconut water (as seen from my previous article on coconut water) helps with replenishment after a tough workout while pumpkin seed are amazing source of magnesium, zinc and protein. “Magnesium boasts a bounty of advantages, helping promote muscle recovery, relaxation, and cognitive function. Zinc helps boost your immune system and keep skin clear.”
If you don’t mind the somewhat high price tag of the product, Aloha is one of the best natural proteins out there for those who are conscious of the chemicals added to some protein powders in the supplement market. The ingredients are very transparent and natural and we love the smooth rich taste of the shakes. Not to mention, my body did increase in lean muscle formation which is much needed. We wished that it had more protein (at least 20g) to compete with other leading protein powders that often start with 20g or more. We give Aloha for 4.5 stars for the overall product.
