Amy Duggar from the super-sized Duggar family has super-sized dreams to become a professional singer. Tonight’s episode of “19 Kids and Counting” is a follow-up to “A Duggar Leaves Home,” which aired last May on TLC. This time around, Amy is shown performing on a dinner cruise, at Jill and Derick’s wedding, and in front of five record label executives. Although it’s a ton of work to break into the highly competitive music world, Amy says that she loves every minute of it. “Thousands and thousands of other people want exactly the same thing I do,” she said on Tuesday. She explained that she doesn’t get any extra breaks just because her last name is Duggar. As posted by Broadway World, “Amy is a different kind of Duggar.” During tonight’s special episode titled “Amy’s Nashville Dreams,” she hopes to encourage others to go for it and follow their heart. Right after tonight’s “19 Kids and Counting” special, fans can log on to TLC.com to see Amy’s new music video in its entirety.
So, what do Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar think of their niece’s time in the spotlight? Amy said that the Duggar family has already previewed tonight’s special. What’s next for talented, funny and perky Amy Duggar? This week, she will spend the first half of Thanksgiving with Grandma Jordan on her father’s side of the family. Afterward, she will gather with the Duggars in the afternoon. “It’s just a really fun time,” Amy stated excitedly.
“19 Kids and Counting” is currently on hiatus, but will return in 2015. Amy said that Jill’s baby and Jessa’s wedding would be featured when the new season begins. “There are lots of surprises. The Duggars are taking over,” Amy added. When asked who might be the next Duggar to marry, Amy replied, “I feel like it’s going to be a boy.” She then said that she just wants all of her cousins to find their perfect mate and to be happy.
As far as her own love life, Amy is laser focused on her career right now. “That’s not my first priority,” she stated honestly. Her goal is to be taken seriously as a recording artist.
