‘Tis the season to be jolly, unfortunately this is also the season when all the spoil sports are determined to have a rotten time and to make sure nobody else enjoys themselves. It does not matter what label one puts on these sour people with nasty dispositions that hate the true meaning of Christmas.
If you don’t want to participate with Christmas, then please don’t. However these anti-Christmas zealots do not want anybody else celebrating Christmas either. To them it is a huge botheration beyond measure to even have Christmas songs being audible in any capacity anywhere.
A very minute percentage of Christmas haters have intimidated business owners so much that advertising and store music have been stripped of any references to Christmas. The paranoia is so acute that Christmas carols are all but eliminated for fear somebody will be offended. The pendulum has swung to the ridiculous level on trying to accommodate people that hate Christmas.
How ludicrous has the anti-Christmas spirit been allowed to fester? When the Veterans Administration refuses to accept Christmas gifts for its veteran patients because the wrapping paper says “Merry Christmas”, one just knows the lunacy has gone far enough. While all of this latitude is given to keep those from being offended from being told Merry Christmas, nobody minds offending the gift givers or gift receivers that have absolutely no problem with being told “Merry Christmas”.
Seriously? When was the last time somebody complained from getting a gift with Merry Christmas on it? Can we stop pretending to be so stupid?
The atmosphere towards political correction is so toxic that the efforts to whitewash Christmas from Christmas is not only silly, but it causes more damage than allowing what is allegedly an offense to those objecting about Christmas.
A first grader wanted to share candy canes with his classmates last Christmas and attached a message to each piece of candy that explained how each color of the candy cane represented what Christ did. At the principles instruction the teacher said, “Jesus is not allowed in school” and unceremoniously ripped each message from the candy canes. Both adults did not want the real meaning of Christmas being shared with the students.
This brings us to the core motive of being against Christmas. Supposedly there is great concern about circulating a story about the birth of Christ who the angels declared would bring peace on Earth, goodwill towards men. Why would anyone want to paint that message as dangerous?
Those claiming reason and logical thinking are concerned that since the birth of Christ never happened, these self-appointed guardians of truth do not want to partake in an ongoing fantasy according to them. However, they have no problem with the fat man in a red suit spiriting into one’s household on Christmas Eve. Little energy is exhibited destroying the belief in that tradition. Even non-religious folks cave into the Santa Clause practice. Isn’t St. Nick a threat too?
Christmas is being marginalized because it has the name “Christ”mas, however the haters of religion are too cowardly to admit that. It is also bewildering to see why “Happy Holiday” is so preferred when it is a shortened form of “Happy Holy Day”. That is an example of the irrational status of those insisting on using Happy Holiday in lieu of Christmas. It ultimately makes little sense.
Christmas is the only celebratory day where is not politically correct to recognize its meaning. One can celebrate Christmas, just do not say or do anything that conveys its true meaning.
How illogical and irrational is that?
