Baltimore is filled with talented people. The talents range from the visual to the literary to the performing arts and in various genres. One person who is expanding her talents is Tameka J. Harris, television personality and video producer, who also excels in media and entertainment. This writer was able to interview Ms. Harris via telephone Sunday, November 30, 2014 and discovered some interesting information.
Harris is allowing her creativity to flow in a major and vibrant way as she broadens her horizons and explores all of her talents as media consultant, singer, event hostess, motivational speaker and now actress.
She will be co-starring in a new stage play, produced by Dennis Williams. The production is entitled, “Forgiving But Not Forgetting”. This is a stage play with a theme centered around forgiveness and the growth one experiences going through issues in life. The protagonist is a young lady named Tia Leslie (played by Kaandra Wilson), a well-to-do young woman, who appears to have everything going for her, but yet is broken. Tia has to confront the issues of her past in order to move forward towards her destiny.
Harris plays the role of Tia’s mother, Joyce, a God-fearing woman who wants to be a support to Tia, but keep the family together at all costs.
Also appearing in the play are: Donnie Thomas, Tiffany Wilson, Atlantis Wigfall, Ed Mitchell, Jasmine Buchanan, Andre Adams, and Brandon Webber.
About the play, Harris says she met Dennis Williams over ten years ago at Bowie State University. She was serving as Miss Bowie State University and Williams wanted to be a part of the Student Government Association at that time. Their paths crossed. Fast forward ten years later, Williams held auditions for this his second play. Harris auditioned and cinched the role.
