“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15-16 (KJV)
It is VERY important that WE (You and I,) take the time to preach the gospel. We could run into someone on the street today that might die tomorrow without ever knowing Christ, and that’s tragic. It’s beyond tragic for them. The things that will become of them are things you would hate to see even happen to your worse enemy. That’s why it’s important for us to take spreading the gospel very seriously. I can’t say that I’ve been too good at it, but I’ll be praying and working on being much better. Obviously, running this website is not enough because the main audience I get here are people who already know Christ. While that’s great and important in itself, it doesn’t bring new believers. We have to reach out to the unsaved as well as the saved, that’s what a lot of people in the church do not understand. We have separated ourselves with the church walls from society instead of going out and finding people and bringing them in too
I’ve been saying it for awhile now, I don’t know what the next step is for me, but I have a desire and urge to do something great for the Lord. I don’t know what it is and it’s kind of frustrating to be honest. The last time I felt this way was before we purchased this website. It’s like that “promotion feeling,” like a job promotion… I want to be promoted and do greater things for Christ. I want to bring people that don’t know Him to Him. Am I ready? I don’t know. I do know that I feel the calling and I do know that many other believers do as well. I firmly believe that God has a great plan for ALL of His children, some just aren’t accepting that plan… Others have no clue what that calling is yet. Please keep me in your prayers and if you need prayer for anything then just visit our website: www.GodsLovingKindness.com and click on the “prayer requests” link. We’d be honored to pray on your behalf, because we believe that it may be time for you too to be promoted in Jesus Christ and His ministry.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all that you are and all that you do. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who’ve sinned against us. Please help us to effectively spread the gospel and help each and every one of us to find your great plan for our lives. In Jesus name. A-men!
Notes: The above devotional is from my website’s 2008 devotional archives (posted February 7th, 2008). While that site is no longer posting new devotionals, we are still accepting prayer requests, there is a link at the bottom of this devotional if you have a prayer request. Also, I (David Moore) am currently in the middle of writing a new ebook which is in devotional format, but it is only on one subject… a very important one and the ebook will use a whole lot of verses from the Bible to back up my points. When that ebook becomes available (hopefully in the coming months), I will post more news and information about it here first. It will be for sale on certain sites for a small fee, but for those of you who choose not to pay for it or are unable to pay, I will also have it available for free download online within a week of its release date or so… because I feel that the topic of this ebook is too important to withhold from people who can’t afford it. Additional notes and updates/addons about this devotional are below.
(New/added notes/update about this devotional: When I talked about reaching out to the unsaved here, I was talking about introducing them to Christ and spreading the Gospel. I’m not talking about this new age garbage where people claim that we need to just open the doors of the church to everyone without sharing the actual message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. We MUST share the message of Jesus and His Gospel, not just simply open up the church doors and say ‘everyone come in.’ Because if everyone comes in, but nobody knows why they’re there then we are not saving souls, we are not bringing new believers… we are just bringing in new donators and that is not acceptable. There is this whole new thing going on where people are just saying ‘everyone’s saved, just open the doors for everyone and accept everyone into the church now.’ This is not how it works, we must first get everyone to open their hearts to Jesus before everyone can be saved. These teachings about how ‘everyone is saved’ are not only dangerous and false, but the purpose behind them are to get new donators/more money, not to bring souls to Christ… well, that is the purpose behind it for some, but the devil has another purpose for this false doctrine: to separate as many people from God as possible. It must be our mission to not allow this to happen. Don’t be deceived, nothing good can come of such false doctrines, but maybe your pastor can finally afford that new Lexus… but at what price? #HowManySoulsDidThatLexusCost? Sorry Lexus… just the first car name that came to mind for some reason.
This verse used in this devotional is clear, I will not back down from this message. There is a Heaven, there is a Hell and not everyone is going to Heaven, many will unfortunately go to Hell… only those who believe on and accept Jesus Christ (the Son of God) and the fact that He came in the flesh, died on the cross, rose again and ascended into Heaven where He is alive forevermore can be saved and go to Heaven. I added this long-winded note because when I wrote my devotionals from the archives years ago I thought at that time that I didn’t have to explain this much in depth, I thought people in the church already knew these things… but things are vastly changing. There are many predators in the church that are consuming the congregation, making it believe damnable heresies… such damnable heresies such as ‘everyone is saved,’ when the fact of the matter is that everyone is not saved, everyone needs Jesus first. Today’s recommended reading for you is 2 Peter Chapter 2, I highly recommend you read this chapter… as it is not only a teaching, it seems to be prophetic, prophetic about false teachers that will be among us in these last days teaching ‘damnable heresies.’ Please leave your comments below about 2 Peter Chapter 2, let us discuss this together in depth… is 2 Peter Chapter 2 just a great teaching or is it a prophesy that is currently coming to pass with more and more false teachers sneaking into the church and corrupting its members?
Update: You know when I wrote this devotional, it sounded like I didn’t know what my calling was or what was next for me. Since then my songwriting took off, but I don’t think that my calling ends there. I think that in many ways 2 Peter chapter 2 answers my question: If there are so many false teachers out there, then there is a need for more right teachers. I’m not fully sure how I’ll do it, I’m not a public speaker. I’m a writer, so it’ll be through writing, but I feel the need for it to be more than devotionals and even though I love songwriting and I’ll continue doing that for the Lord… It is hard to fit an entire meat and potatoes sermon in a song, so I think one way or another I’m going to teach God’s Word through writing. But the point is, if you’re not sure what your calling is… there are a lot of false teachers out there, maybe God is calling you to teach His Word correctly too, you don’t have to do it in a traditional standing up behind a pew in front of a bunch of people kind of way if you hate public speaking… find a way to do it that works for you. Check out a song that I wrote with my wife Krista and a friend/the featured artist Nathan Brumley, I embedded it to this page for you. It is called, “Let Me Be Your Mouth” and it fits today’s message of spreading God’s Word.)
