It is not too early to begin thinking about how you are going to celebrate New Year’s Eve. In fact if you’ve only just started to think about it, you are already too late to reserve a spot at the epic New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball at Castello di Amorosa. It is sold out.
Do not dismay, however. There are many other superb New Year’s Eve party possibilities in Napa Valley and wine country. You must act quickly though, for reservations are a must. The times listed here are for when the doors open. Now put on your party hat and bring in 2015 with a bang:
Gamble the night away
Calistoga’s Castello party is not the only costumed ball in Napa Valley. Far from it. One of the best is the Wine Train’s Blackjack Ball. Highlights include a caviar hors d’oeuvre reception, glass of bubbly, three-hour train ride with dinner through Napa Valley, and after returning to the station, more bubbly and casino table games at the after-party. Check-in 4:45 p.m. Dinner and after-party $245-$275 per person. For party only, $65 per. Napa Valley Wine Train, 1275 McKinstry Street, Napa. 800-427-4124.
Masquerade on Main
Yet another splendid costumed ball is the one at 1313 Main. “Let’s get fizzy!” is the theme of this celebration hosted by Methode Bubble Bar in Napa. Dinner is accompanied by JCB sparkling wines and the piano stylings of David Ruane. The after-party kicks it up a notch with the Mike Greensill Trio featuring Kellie Fuller, lovely edibles and a complimentary glass of bubbly. 7 p.m. Dinner and after-party $145 per; party only $35.
