For those yearning for their big break in show business, opportunity will soon be knocking right here on the Space Coast. On Sunday, April 25, 2015, the producers of the TV reality show, ” Big Brother “, will hold a casting event at Terminal B-2, Victory Casino Cruises, in Port Canaveral, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CBS reality show, hosted by Julie Chen, places 10 contestants in a Big Brother House and keeps them isolated for about three months. During that time they are allowed no electronic devices and must agree to live under constant TV and audio surveillance. Of course, there must be a means of narrowing the group down to one winner, not to mention a way to hold the TV audience in suspense long enough that the ratings can guarantee the show’s return the following season. And that’s where the weekly eviction comes in, and the last contestant to survive the evictions wins the top prize.
Odds and tips
Audition events for Big Brother 17 began March 6 in Savannah, GA. By the time they get to Cape Canaveral, they will have held a total of 25 casting events across the country. Therefore it would be wise to seek some advice and the producers offer three suggestions to consult.

- Big Brother Casting Director Robyn Kass has released an informative video filled with casting tips and cameos. It is free and available on the show’s website. Also available are the past 16 seasons for those who’d like to know what they are in for.
