Buckhead has been a hot spot for nightlife since the 1980s, when the Buckhead Village was filled with bars and clubs. Many of these destinations were torn down during the redevelopment of the village area, but there are still fun options for a night out on the town. Here are the top destinations near the MARTA station, with the venues closest to MARTA listed first. Keep in mind that trains stop at 1:30 a.m., so plan for an alternate way home if you will be out late.
A rooftop bar and lounge on top of the W Hotel, Whiskey Blue has DJs on the weekend and great views of downtown Atlanta. Take the Peachtree Road exit out of the station and walk through the pedestrian tunnel. At street level turn right and walk less than a block.
Just as the name suggests, this InterContinental Buckhead hotel bar is full of a wide variety of bourbon, whiskies and craft cocktails. There’s also TVs for watching the games. Take the Peachtree Road pedestrian tunnel out of the station and turn left at street level. The bar is about a block town on the left.
For a classy cocktail with live jazz Thursday-Saturday, head to the Lobby Lounge in the Ritz Carlton. Take the Peachtree Road exit out of the station, and walk up the first set of stairs to street level after going through the fare gate. Turn left on Peachtree Road and walk about two blocks.
AMC Fork and Screen
For dinner and a movie all in the same place, the AMC Fork and Screen has you covered. There’s also a bar if you want to get beer, wine or a cocktail. Take the first Peachtree Road exit out of the station (Peachtree Road South) and turn right at street level. Walk about a block to the first stoplight and turn right again to enter Tower Place. Follow the road around to the theater, keeping left at the split in the road then veering right by the 3340 building into Tower Walk. The venue is small, so buy tickets in advance and arrive early.
For a solid bar experience, head to Industry Tavern below the Terminus buildings. They have vintage cocktails, food and a happy hour. Take the Peachtree Road exit out of the station and walk up the first stairway after going through the fare gates. Turn right at street level and walk about two blocks to the Terminus building, turning right on the road just after the Grand Hyatt hotel.
A longer walk away, Havana Club is a popular nightclub with music and dancing. You can experience everything from pop, house, EDM, and Latin music in a variety of rooms. Take the Peachtree Road exit out of the station and walk through the pedestrian tunnel to reach street level. Turn left on Peachtree Road and walk just over two blocks to Piedmont Road. Cross over Piedmont then turn left on Piedmont to reach the club. Total walking time is about 12 minutes.
Andrews Entertainment District
Down the street and near the Buckhead Village is the Andrews Entertainment District, a connected complex of restaurants, bars and dance clubs. It is a 24-minute walk away from the station, or you can board bus 110 for a ride. See transit and walking directions to plan your trip.
