California State Park’s invites you to discover healthy outdoor hiking and fun right in your “own backyard” by participating in an organized hike or activity at a state park near you. Designed to showcase state parks as year-round recreation destinations offering “close to home” places to enjoy healthy outdoor lifestyles and California’s abundant natural beauty, this signature event takes place in dozens of parks throughout California offering New Year’s Day hiking and outdoor activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
If you are Los Angeles County bound for instance, there are 3 hikes scheduled at Saddleback Butte State Park, and one at Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. In Northern Cali, you can celebrate a healthy, happy new you on New Years Day 2015 with a Mt. Tamalpais State Park hike, or even hop on a fun Angel Island -Tiburon Ferry ride to beautiful Angel Island State Park via Tiburon, Calif. to take in spectacular “middle of San Francisco Bay” views on a hike on Angel Island State Park’s Perimeter Roadto Battery Ledyard Overlook.
