Carson Kitchen, the latest endeavor of celebrity chef Kerry Simon, is gearing up for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, two of the biggest days for dining and partying in Las Vegas. In 2014, the weather predictions are snow with a low of 30 degrees. Maybe everyone will just stay home and watch television.
Knowing that snow and cold will not stop anyone, Carson Kitchen in downtown Las Vegas is offering a pre-fixe menu to ring in the New Year. An exhilarating experience combined with a hip urban crowd and food that truly transcends any description other than incredibly awesome, Carson Kitchen is the perfect place to dine as part of party plans.
Carson Kitchen’s seasonal menu items will be featured on the restaurant’s prix-fixe New Year’s Eve menu, which will include a five course tasting and glass of wine or champagne per person, priced at $99 per couple, with an optional wine pairing with each course priced at $25 per person.
The dinner will begin with devil’s eggs and killer shrimp appetizers. The Devil’s Eggs are not traditional deviled eggs but made with a crispy pancetta and caviar. The Killer Shrimp is coasted with a spicy Rocoto pepper cream, pickled peppers and fresh red pepper rounds.
The next course is a persimmon and pear salad made with hearts of romaine, radicchio, quince vinaigrette and hazelnut brittle.
The third course is a seasonal steelhead trout accompanied by a house-made country bacon relish. The fish has flavorful, crispy skin with flaky, tender and flavor-filled filet. While it is true bacon makes anything taste phenomenal, bacon relish is beyond description it is so incredible.
For the entreé course, diners will choose the cocoa-espresso New York strip steak or the pork belly carbonara with a side of the rainbow cauliflower. The crispy pork belly lies on a bed of fresh pasta with a crispy egg yolk, peas and pancetta. The other entrée choice, Cocoa & Espresso Rubbed Strip Steak, is infused with the smokiness of the dry rub, cut in red wine demi rounds.
Dessert is Sweet Potato Pie in a Jar, with melted marshmallow topping accompanied by cranberry and pumpkin seed biscotti. Stout ale is added making this dessert even more unique.
Along with the prix-fix New Year’s Eve menu, Carson Kitchen introduced brand-new seasonal menu items including:
