Esposito’s life will be in danger when he’s taken hostage on “Castle” season 7, episode 8 titled “Kill Switch” airing Monday, November 24 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
According to the synopsis for “Kill Switch” provided by ABC, “When subway passengers, including Detective Esposito, are taken hostage by a mysterious gunman, Castle, Beckett and the team must uncover the gunman’s agenda before it’s too late.”
The promo for this episode sneak peaks that Castle and Beckett are back to solving crimes on their NYC streets. “Every second counts” according to the promo.
ABC released a sneak peak for “Kill Switch.” In the sneak peak, Castle and Beckett are arriving together at a crime scene for the first time as a married couple. They banter back and forth with one another naming other crime-solving married couples, and Kate even refers to the two of them as Turner and Hooch since Castle reminds her of Hooch. So cute! What’s not so cute is their crime scene. Their victim took a shot to the head in a case of “deliberate murder.”
Previously on “Castle,” Richard and Kate were married in “The Time of Our Lives!” Last week’s episode, “Once Upon A Time In The West” took the married pair to a dude ranch for their work honeymoon.
When Castle found out that Beckett used up all her vacation time to search for him when he went missing, Castle came up with a plan for him and Beckett to go undercover, posing as newlyweds, to solve the case of a murder victim, who appeared to have been poisoned at the dude ranch.
This episode was a lot of fun! Castle and Beckett dressed the part in western garb throughout the episode. There were cowboys, horses, a saloon fight (which involved Castle being thrown out of the bar by a cowboy), a showdown at the saloon and more.
Kate and Castle’s undercover case ended up being the after-effects of a train robbery back in 1893. Castle and Beckett thought they found the missing gold from the robbery, but in lieu of the gold, they ended up finding skeletal remains of their NYC murder victim’s father. Their NYC murder victim’s murderer… Gentleman James Grady, the proprietor of the dude ranch. Castle and Grady are in a showdown at the saloon. Castle fumbles with his quick draw, but luckily Kate appears on the scene, and guns down Grady.
Throughout the episode, Kate kept telling Castle this is not their honeymoon. After being almost attacked by a rattlesnake and stranded in the middle of nowhere by their runaway horse-drawn wagon (Castle nick-named one of the horses Esposito and “the little one is Ryan”), which were spooked by Kate’s shooting of the snake, even Castle couldn’t resist sputtering that this was not their honeymoon, but his dislike was short-lived. By the end of the episode, Kate started loving the old west, even lassoing Castle with her rope, after Esposito and Ryan each gave her two of their vacation days as a wedding present, so she and Castle could extend their stay at the dude ranch. This is their honeymoon! But Kate still wants to go on their island vacation too like they originally planned.
Back to Esposito and Ryan, boy, were they bitter when Castle and Kate told them of their nuptials. Lanie was upset about not being invited as well, but she recovered quickly, and hugged Kate, but she couldn’t resist punching Castle. Esposito and Ryan took money out of Castle’s wallet with permission from Castle as reimbursement for their tuxes. They even mentioned to Castle that they had a speech written and wrote a song, which Castle now lost his chance to hear. Bitter. Angry. Upset.
It wasn’t until Captain Gates told them to stop their whining and instead be happy for Kate and Castle that they stopped being bitter. It was Captain Gates who gave Espo and Ryan the wedding gift idea, which allowed Kate and Castle to have their extended honeymoon at the dude ranch. Awwww.
Maybe there will be more wedding bells in the air now that Esposito’s life will be in danger this week? That is, of course, as long as his friends and co-workers rescue him in time. Poor Lanie. She looks so devastated in the promo when Espo is taken hostage. We will just have to wait and see.
