What is Christian Positivity? What is the world’s view on being positive? How do you be positive in Christ? The world today thrives off positivity and believing in oneself, but is this a correct view of being positive? The view of positivity in the Bible is portrayed quite differently than what we see being promoted today. While the Bible says hope in God; the world says believe in yourself. Let’s take a look at the differences between the two and how we can live a positive life in Christ.
“A wise man fears and departs from evil, but a fool rages and is self-confident.” (Proverbs 14:16). The world shows us that to be positive is to be self-confident. Believe in yourself and love yourself and know that the world revolves around you. Being positive is all on attitude, which in part is true. What then is Christian positivity?
“Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.” (Psalms 146:5). Christian positivity is putting our hope in the Lord and not in ourselves. Being God-confident and not self-confident. Knowing that everything revolves around the Lord and not us. Having a positive attitude not towards ourselves, but rather towards the Lord with the knowing we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. With this view we can go about life with a positive attitude and confidence, not within ourselves, but within God. How do you be positive in Christ?
“You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride on it; you spoil my success.” (Job 30:22). Being positive in Christ is done when we fully submit our lives to Him and we put our full trust and hope in Him. Being positive in Christ is believing that He will lift us up no matter what the circumstances are and knowing that we can do all things through Him and by Him. Being positive in Christ is knowing that nothing can stop us from achieving what God has set us out to do as His Spirit supplies us with what we need and strengthen us to go against the wiles of the devil and the world.
Christian positivity is believing in Christ and putting our hope in Him while walking in faith. Worldly positivity seeks to fulfill self and to believe in self while walking in self-confidence. Being positive in Christ is done by submitting our lives to Him, walking by faith in Him, and knowing that we can do all things in and through Him. God is our hope and He lifts us up and our attitude should be affected by His Spirit. Be positive in Christ, not self. “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26).
