ClassPass San Diego made its fitness debut last month giving San Diegans a chance to flex their muscles and make good on their health resolutions well before the new year. With over 50 studios to choose from 7 days a week, there is no excuse to miss a workout. Signing up for classes is super easy and the website allows you to add automatic alerts to your Google Calendar, which proves helpful to stay organized and on track.
If you want a full-body workout that makes you feel a bit badass, then Title Boxing is the place for you. Their boxing classes are taught by trainers in a group setting who show you both technique and form as you run through intervals of boxing using a bag. Never wrapped your hands before? No problem. Title Boxing located in North Park offers hand wraps for $5 and they will show you how to do it right. You can also use the gloves from the gym and the lockers labeled by different boxing legends. If you’re very lucky, you may be able to get your spar on with instruction from an ex-Navy SEAL. Title Boxing offers its classes at several times throughout the day making it accommodating for anyone’s schedule. The new addition to this popular franchise is family-owned and operated, so stop by and sign up for a class to see if a membership is for you.
Boxing at Title Boxing Club from 12p.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday.
To slow things down and focus on your inner strength and mindfulness, enter the zen world of Happy-U Namaste for their Candlelight Flow. The class starts right before bed at 8:30 p.m. and is a perfect way to wind down from the day. This Ocean Beach yoga studio has an inviting vibe the second you walk through the door and the class space is spacious and serene. Yoga by candlelight doesn’t mean lying down for Corpse Pose throughout the entire session. There are strength holds and intensive stretching that feels oh-so-good. Better yet, the instructor starts the class by allowing you choose a card with words of intention to help you focus your yoga practice and get your energy started out on the right path. Slow down and flow. Namaste.
Candlelight Flow at Happy-U Namaste Yoga Center from 8:30p.m.-9:45p.m on Wednesday.
Sculpt and tone with Booty Barre at Pilates of Eastlake. If you want to give your butt a lift and strengthen your lower body, this class will make you squeeze and sweat. Set to fun music with a friendly instructor, don’t feel intimidated if your legs start to shake. That means it’s working! This workout can be done barefoot or with special gripping socks and will challenge your calves, thighs, booty, and core. It’s a good alternative to cardio or weight lifting classes as it focuses on specific areas of the body for noticeable results. Tighten your tush with a ballet twist.
