On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, the Cleveland Indians announced their schedule of pre-game events for Opening Day 2015 to take place on Friday, April 10. All gates will open at 2 p.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 4:10 p.m. The Indians will host Central Division rival Detroit Tigers.
The 2015 Home Opener marks the Indians’ 22nd at Progressive Field and the 115th as a charter member of the American League. Opening Day has been a sellout for the Tribe dating back to 1993, the team’s final year at Cleveland Municipal Stadium.
The festivities will begin with a balloon launch marking the opening of the new Right Field Gate, part of the brand-new Right Field District at Progressive Field. The area will host a Block Party featuring popular local band The Spazmatics, an autograph opportunity from Carlos Baerga from 3-3:30 p.m., and plenty of other family-friendly activities.
Gaylord Perry will throw out the first pitch while the national anthem will be performed by Arianna Korting.
