This coming Sunday marks the 87th year in a row that the Academy Awards will take place and this year’s show will be one of the biggest, as each year usually is. You’ve no doubt already nailed down plans to watch the show with friends and family, so allow us to share a few cocktail recipes with you to go along with the evening.
In the world of vodka, there are plenty of brands and companies that make exceptional vodka, but only one brand makes Grey Goose Vodka. We have three unique cocktail recipes we’d like to pass along and each of them bring something different to the table. The three drinks are the Grey Goose L’Oxymore (The Oxymoron), Grey Goose Vert L’Inconnu (Green The Unknown) and Grey Goose Je Crois (I Believe).
In order to make each of these drinks, you are going to need Grey Goose Le Citron, Grey Goose La Poire and Grey Goose L’Orange, respectively. To create a Grey Goose L’Oxymore, you will need to have on hand Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, French cepes mushroom syrup, fresh lemon juice, creme de cassis, aged sherry vinegar, a shaker, strainer, fresh vanilla, a vanilla pod and a chilled coupette.
First, add in one and a half parts of Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, three fourth parts French cepes mushroom syrup, one and a half parts of fresh lemon juice, one bar spoon full of creme de cassis and a drizzle of aged sherry vinegar. Once you have all of these ingredients in your shaker, mix everything up thoroughly and then double strain the liquid into your chilled coupette. If you’d like, feel free to garnish the cocktail with fresh vanilla around the rim and a fresh vanilla pod.
The second drink we’ll take a look at is the Grey Goose Vert L’Inconnu. For those who wish to create one of these cocktails, you will need to have on hand Grey Goose La Poire Vodka, fresh lime juice that’s been infused with shiso leaves, Arctic cloudberry liqueur, Himalayan salted soda water, a shaker, ice and a hi-ball glass.
First, add into your ice-filled shaker two parts Grey Goose La Poire Vodka, one part fresh lime juice, one part Arctic cloudberry liqueur and one part Himalayan salted soda water. Once everything has been added, shake the contents up thoroughly and then pour into your hi-ball glass. This is an exceptionally refreshing cocktail you’ll surely enjoy and it was a personal favorite of the three.
The last cocktail we’ll be discussing today is the Grey Goose Je Crois. To make yourself one of these, you will need to have on hand Grey Goose L’Orange Vodka, Noilly Prat Ambre Vermouth (or any vermouth), Suze, Benedictine liqueur, a Rocks Glass, ice, a shaker, strainer and red grapefruit twist.
First, you must add ice into your shaker and then mix in three parts Grey Goose L’Orange Vodka, two parts Noilly Prat Ambre Vermouth, one and a half parts Suze and one part Benedictine liqueur. If you already have a different vermouth, that works just as well as the Noilly Prat Ambre.
Next, mix everything up thoroughly until you feel the consistency is correct. Finally, add ice into your Rocks Glass and strain the liquid from the shaker into your glass. If you wish, feel free to garnish your drink with a red grapefruit twist.
Enjoy the 87th Academy Awards coming up this Sunday, but be sure to do so responsibly.
