Dust off those dashikis, brush up on your Afrocentric knowledge, and if you’re into really good music, bring your black power fist pumps on down to The Howard Theatre. In 2007 Gerald Scott formed a group of singers comprised totally of family and close friends and birthed “Gerald Scott & Co.” His debut project, INTRO, was released in 2008 which boasted his first top 40 radio hits such as “Great is the Lord” and “You can’t stop my praise” featuring Stellar Award winner Isaiah D. Thomas. Very shortly after that he began to work on his sophomore project entitled “Don’t Let Go”, released in 2010. Join them this Sunday while enjoying and all you can eat brunch.

Crowned “Motown’s ultimate soul diva,” Martha Reeves established herself as one of music’s greatest voices from the beginning. As soprano lead vocalist of legendary recording group Martha & The Vandellas they produced smash hits such as the Grammy-nominated “Heat Wave,” the gospel-tinged “Nowhere to Run,” the classic soul favorite “My Baby Loves Me,” and the signature, “Dancing In The Street.” Martha along with current Vandellas Delphine Reeves and Sandra Jackson (aka, Lois Reeves) will be in concert calling all around the world at the end of the month.

Grammy Award nominated singer and songwriter Amel Larrieux who’s critically acclaimed fifth solo album “Ice Cream Everyday” (Blisslife Records Oct 23, 2013) will be in concert. Amel fuses a range of genres – R&B, soul, hip-hop, jazz and folk, with flashes of Middle Eastern, West African, and Indian styles.
