In North and South Carolina, there is a circuit called the Carolina Brewer of the Year (CBoY). The major clubs in North and South Carolina all hold annual homebrew competitions throughout the year. The first of the circuit is now over, with Shamrock XX hosted on March 7th by CARBOY, the Raleigh club.
Note from CARBOY: The 20th annual Shamrock Open is History! Thanks to all of the Brewers, Judges, Stewards and the Competition Team, it takes all of us to make this annual event such a success. Have a terrific brewing year and look forward to next year’s event
At every competition there is a charity raffle of items that were donated. Homebrew companies locally and nationally donate to raffles as well as local beer related companies. Without these donations, homebrew clubs wouldn’t be able to hold raffles. Please take a look at the sponsors that helped CARBOY!
Charlotte area homebrew clubs all took ribbons this year! I for one was glad to see so many local Charlotte homebrewers walk away with a ribbon! Carolina BrewMasters, IBU, and CABREW were all listed among the winners.
