With Thursday and Friday past, customers will turn to the big Cyber Monday deals for 2014 to see if they find any better sales prices than there were throughout November. Most retailers had month-long sales events, or random specials they rolled out online to entice customers into shopping earlier than ever. However, Monday will not only mark the start of December, but will be the latest installment of the online day of shopping.
According to Crossmap.com in their Nov. 28 report, the Amazon “cyber sale” will include discounted prices on items such as the Kindle Fire tablets and the Fire phone. Amazon had limited success with their first-ever smartphone, so they will be offering the Fire Phone unlocked and with no contract for just $199. It’s clear the company is looking to try to make some money back, although they’ve already taken a huge loss on the device. However, their Kindle Fire tablets have been somewhat more successful and those will also be discounted. The Fire HD7 tablet will be just $109, which is a $30 discount, while other deals should be featured beyond just the retailer’s own products.
What about Walmart’s Cyber Monday sale? A PlayStation 4 deal is among those that Amazon’s rival has been rumored to have for the Walmart Cyber Monday sale. This deal reportedly will have a console, a controller, “LittleBigPlanet 3,” “LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham,” and the choice of one other game for just $449. The console itself sells for just $399 in many deals that were shown for Black Friday. Walmart is expected to have many other good “cyber deals” with rumors suggesting they’ll have TVs such as a Samsung 55-inch 4K Ultra HDTV, an LG 49-inch 1080p and Sanyo’s 58-inch 1080p HDTV. None of the deals have been revealed yet, and it’s hard to imagine they’ll top the $199 or $218 deals that Walmart and competitors offered for Thanksgiving Day.
The Best Buy Cyber Monday sale may be one to watch. So far, details have been sparse about any of the deals that the electronics, video game and computer retailer will have. However, they seemed to be among the more competitive retailers when it came to deals for Black Friday or even before Thanksgiving. Some of the deals that have been spotted include manufacturer deals that will be available in the store such as the Xbox One bundle for $329, available over Thanksgiving weekend. Also, the HTC Re Camera is going to be 50% off so it will be just $99 at Best Buy’s website or in stores.
On Thanksgiving, Best Buy suffered a website outage due to the rush for Black Friday sales deals. Apparently, there was such an increase in mobile traffic that they had to shut down the site so they could increase and restore its overall performance. The retailer will hope that Cyber Monday has just as much traffic, minus the website going down, since after all, this is a shopping day that happens online.
Will you be shopping online for Cyber Monday or did you already do most of your shopping for the holidays?
