Monday, April 20: Check out Jim Lowdermilk’s free Body Pyramid introductory session this morning at Harmony Yoga, followed by his 4-week series beginning next Monday morning. Lying on the double curve of the Body Pyramid relaxes muscles to help release back and joint pain. Once tight muscles are relaxed, participants learn Body Pyramid core exercises, beneficial for yoga practitioners and athletes.
Tuesday, April 21: Dru Welborn offers a Special Kundalini Yoga 3- Week Spring Series, beginning tonight at Harmony Yoga. Each all-levels class includes a kriya (exercise set), breathwork and meditation to create seasonal balance, along with Yogi Bhajan’s May Clove recipe. Longtime meditation practitioner and teacher Barry Gillespie presents Mindfulness of the Aggregates of Awareness tonight at Asana Studio. Mindfulness meditation is based on the Satipatthana Sutta, the Buddha’s principle teaching on mindfulness. The Five Aggregates is a way to understand that everything is connected. Tonight’s session begins with a short meditation followed by detailed instructions taken from the sutta. The session ends with a longer sitting to practice those instructions, with time left for discussion.
