“Get a B 12 shot”, sound familiar? Well, if that’s not an easy option for you, try a B-Complex supplement or eat more dark leafy green stuff; or both.
Depression and exhaustion, and Chronic Fatigue are debilitating conditions, and not easily identified. It takes a bit of work to look into oneself and search for the complex issues causing the illness or discomforts. It could be something obvious, such as a loss or illness, tragedy, even the news will bring a level of depression after certain situations. Or it could be something deep with in us, like unrealized dreams or dashed hopes. Maybe the daily grind of life, the Murphy’s Law stuff, that has a tendency to beat a person down.
Maybe a nutritional deficiency is causing problems. A B-Complex supplement may help, especially if you respond well to a B-12 shot. Eat more leafy greens and enjoy some sunshine and see if mood improves. A nutritionally deficient mood is an easy fix. You just get rest and eat better, possibly supplement with the B-Complex during stressful episodes. Nerves and hair, skin and nails, all benefit from proper B vitamins.
Depression from mental thoughts and painful feelings …not so easy to mend, but will surely benefit from a good diet and restful sleep. Proper nutrition, and as healthy food as you will allow yourself to eat. Treat yourself well, enjoy moments and work into stretching pleasant moments into pleasant hours. Everyone is different, do you have a Bliss? Something that gives you joy. Clean sheets, new socks, fresh flowers, hot coffee, sun tea, a fishing trip, a good book, a camp fire, a good steak, a fluffy kitten or a iridescent fish? It’s a very personal thing, and we all need a bit of bliss, preferably daily!
If caring for a fish will make you get out of bed daily, and participate more in life…indulge in a fish tank. If fresh flowers make life more bearable, get some occasionally; if a good bottle of wine makes you feel good about life, make a reason to treat yourself and do it. Maybe it’s a trip out for a lunch or a movie date, if something so simple will make life more enjoyable for you, then try and take the steps to realizing it.
Maybe you really need a nap! and if sleep is elusive, maybe a brief meditation or relaxation break would be achievable? Especially the older you get, rest is important. Think about the older people you’ve known, they napped when they needed to! Don’t burn your candle at both ends, and wonder why you feel so poorly. Rarely, is a human condition just one problem, but often a complex multifaceted mix of issues; often things we don’t share with a Doctor…if lucky enough to have such competent health care.
Have you worn yourself down so badly, that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sounds like a good name for your symptoms. Continuous, debilitating unhappiness and exhaustion, daily. Unrelenting. GET REST. EAT BETTER. Recognize your level of extreme exhaustion and nutritional deficiencies making this a dangerous level to operate your body at. People who work double shifts regularly, and persons under extremely stressful jobs need to maintain a healthy balance or they “burn out”. We all can burn out, and we need to think about that. Are you burned out? Used up and depleted? Well, now, how can you rest and recharge? Your health depends on it!
In a perfect World, you’re able to see a Doctor immediately and communicate your symptoms and feelings; and subsequently get help and guidance. Getting out of bed may be an issue, getting an appointment difficult, or even having health care available, can prevent or disrupt getting help. Knowing that you’re not alone in this suffering may help. It’s not your imagination, it’s not preventable and it’s not incurable. It’s reversible with rest and good nutrition, compassion and acceptance. You must acknowledge that you are exhausted beyond belief, and running on poor fuel and no rest. If you won’t admit it, you can’t fix it.
Many of us pop a vitamin, or a handful of them, and race to keep up the pace. Many people aren’t lucky enough to have a vitamin, forget the handful of them!, and poor food choices may be the only choice available; or no food at all. ( many children and adults are going hungry, nutrition being the last thing on their minds.)
You may have no reason to be depressed, but continuous lack of happiness can surely lead to depression. Being grateful helps, but it’s such a complex World full of complex problems, taking a moment to yourself is often discouraged and always overlooked. It amounts to taking a bubble bath! A hot shower! Clean sheets for the bed and a few weeks of healthy eating. Processing the losses, smiling for the small gains, and knowing that your not alone.
We are all miserable. Even the people who you may look at and envy their happiness, their energy, their zest for life! We are all Human. We all run down, have doubts, harbor fears, and become exhausted. Take care of the body you live in, with out it…..well you know.
