Disneyland’s 60th anniversary will be a diamond-filled affair starting this Spring, bringing guests a notable trio of nighttime entertainment events including fireworks and a parade, as well as a new anniversary edition of California Adventure’s wonderful World of Color. The Disney Parks blog delivered further news the other day as they announced that Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris will be joining Mickey Mouse in hosting the re-imagined rendition of Paradise Pier’s popular water show.
Harris has already been a presence at the California park for the past few years as the recorded voice of California Screamin’. As co-host of the new World of Color: Celebrate the Wonderful World of Walt Disney!, Harris will guide guests through an evening spectacular with a predictably heavy Walt Disney-era slant. Per the official description…
Mickey Mouse and Neil take us on a fun-filled and inspirational journey, exploring Walt’s decades-long legacy of memorable animated moments and his dream of Disneyland park, and culminating in a madcap musical tour of Disneyland Resort attractions as you’ve never seen them before!
Some fans speculate that Disney may incorporate some of the original show’s eliminated elements. Prior to World of Color’s 2010 premiere the show was previewed for CEO Bob Igor, who afterwards asked for a number of changes that resulted in the inclusion of fewer “classic” films in favor of more contemporary pieces.
