This Valentine’s Day is yet another opportunity to create a memorable moment for you and the most important person in your life. You probably have a wonderful night planned for the two of you, but now you just need a few delicious cocktails to go with it. Allow us to introduce to you a dynamic duo from Hornitos Tequila.
We want to shine a light on two exceptional cocktail recipes that you and your special someone will certainly enjoy this Valentine’s Day. The two drinks are “Dulce y Picante” and “Berried Treasure,” and they use Hornitos Plata Tequila and Hornitos Reposado, respectively.
To create a “Dulce y Picante” you will need to have on hand Hornitos Plata Tequila, green chartreuse liqueur, pineapple juice, a jalapeno, simple syrup, lime juice, cilantro, a mixing glass, paprika sea salt, pineapple leaf, a strainer and an old fashioned glass. If you need some easy instructions on how to create simple syrup of your own, check this recipe out.
To create a “Dulce y Picante,” you must muddle a handful of cilantro in your mixing glass, followed by further muddling of jalapeno on top of that. Next, add into your mixing glass one and a half parts Hornitos Plata Tequila, one half part green chartreuse liqueur, three fourth parts of pineapple juice, three fourth parts simple syrup and three fourth parts lime juice.
Once you have all of the ingredients into your mixing glass, feel free to mix everything up thoroughly for about eight to ten seconds. After mixing, double strain the contents into your old fashioned glass that has paprika sea salt on its rim. Finally if you wish, garnish the beverage with a cilantro or pineapple leaf.
Now it’s time to talk about our second drink, “Berried Treasure.” For this beverage, you will need to have on hand Hornitos Reposado Tequila, simply syrup, lemon juice, blackberries, rosemary sprigs, angostura bitters, a mixing glass, a strainer and an old fashioned glass.
First, add one or two rosemary sprigs into your mixing glass and muddle them together. Second, add in six blackberries to muddle, followed by two parts Hornitos Reposado Tequila, three fourth parts simple syrup, three fourth parts lemon juice and a couple dashes of angostura bitters. Finally, shake the contents up thoroughly and double strain everything into your old fashioned glass. Feel free to garnish your beverage with a rosemary sprig and a few blackberries.
