A man who set out to check a duck blind at Buck Creek State Park in Ohio, became hopelessly stuck in waist-deep mud on Saturday, reported Monday’s WDTN News. Fortunately, the trapped man had taken his cell phone…and his dog – or things may have very well turned out differently.
After phoning for help, rescuers arrived to the scene. The man was trapped in mud that nearly reached his chest – and the 33 degree temperature did not make his time there pleasant. The water at the pond was not deep enough to send in a rescue boat, but firefighters were able to send the dog out to the trapped man with a rope.
Thanks to one faithful dog, and a rope – the man, who had been stuck for two hours, was finally pulled to safety. He is expected to be okay.
