Their ideology is confusing, their practices are inconsistent, their values are skittish, and their lives resemble a demolition derby; and these are the ones claiming to follow Christianity. It is no surprise the Bible declares that judgment will begin in the house of God. If the church can have such dubious ideals about God, then it is quite logical that those with inadequate religious training are even more clueless about who God is and what the Bible actually stipulates.
It is strange there are so many experts on the Almighty Yahweh God or His word, and yet continue to pontificate nonsense that contradicts what the Torah/Bible articulates regarding Elohim.
One of the most fascinating ironies are the people that claim there is no god will spend enormous amounts of time and energy proselytizing their religion of atheism to others. The same ones will object to Christian evangelism or any religious expression by others. Weird religious concepts are used by the anti-religious practitioners to justify the rejection of religious doctrines.
Here are some of the most ill-conceived practices that fail to take Torah/Bible principles regarding God.
One’s definition of predestination will determine how one interprets the Bible. Some people, as Deists, believe God created and left humans alone to determine their own destiny. Faith believers intermingles the concept of faith where the future is determined by a mixture of trust in God and what one wants for the future by the execution of choices and the consequences thereof. Others believe God orchestrates human events to bring about the accomplishment of His ultimate will.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predestination_%28film%29
Based on your concepts, one will interpret the Bible and mold the knowledge provided to fit one’s preconceived ideals of who God is. This critical piece of how one interprets predestination goes hand in hand with another important component, and that is free will.
To put it flatly, those that blame God have absolutely no idea how each person is a free moral agent to do as one pleases. That truth will intimidate those who have a fallacy that absolutely no consequences take place from good or bad decisions of human beings.http://www.godswill-wellness.com/free-will.html
God does not make anyone obey His will, which is why the Garden of Eden is a model of free will decisions God gives to His creations. Each person is given the choice to make decisions in compliance to God’s spiritual laws and physical laws with the appropriate cause and effect to actions done. Many are obvious, however many have ramifications that impact far beyond the original act, as with Adam and Eve.
Another example is what took place with Abraham and Sarah when God instructed both that they would have a son in their old age. When God delayed their blessing, Sarah gave Abraham her handmaiden Hagar to practice a custom of providing an heir to Abraham when a couple went childless. This led to problems where Hagar’s son became the father of the Arab nation and Isaac, the child of God’s promise, was the father to Jacob who became the father of the Israel, and we know how that turned out.
It is in the Bible!!
There is a lot of stuff in the Bible, unfortunately it does not mean it was ordained by God. As with Abraham and Sarah’s debacle, which created the eventual strife between the Israelis and Arabs, there are many events and recitations in the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible did God sanction multiple marriages, however some of the Bible’s most revered men did exactly that with King David and the wisest man that ever lived in Solomon.
There are declarations in the Bible that are truly stated, but they are NOT a statement of truth. Erroneous ideas are passed along from generation to generation because of what somebody said in the Bible.
One of the most repeated and misapplied quotes in the Bible comes from Job who lamented, “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord!” when Job was going through his tribulations.
Well, actually and more accurately it is the Lord giveth and Satan took it away; thus fulfilling John 10:10 where it states, “the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy”. A multitude of funerals have been conducted where it was stated, “God took them.” God does not steal people, and if God takes them, God takes them alive as with Enoch and Elijah.
Intervention of God
One of the most least understood Biblical concepts is expecting God to come to the rescue just in the nick of time as in an old John Wayne movie. A common complaint is, “why doesn’t God do something?” or another proverbial issue if disaster arrives is “God does not care.”
What many fail to realize is God gave dominion of the Earth to mankind. God does not interfere and operate illegally on this planet unless He is given permission. God is bound by His word. Also, the consequences of human sin is allowed to run its course while dressed in the issue of unfairness.
When Adam and Eve blew it, Earth’s authority was turned over to Lucifer, another devastating consequence of the original sin. If one is minutely familiar with the Bible narrative, God operates through people that submit their will to God’s authority.
An angel appeared to the Virgin Mary and explained what God’s plan was to use Mary as the mother of Jesus. Mary complied and stated, “be it unto me according to your will.” If nothing else, this demonstrates that God does not force anybody to comply to His will. God has foreknowledge of what one will do, however God is not a Cosmic Puppeteer who forces obedience.
The New Testament is a story of God repairing the breech between Himself and mankind, and eventually uses Jesus’ Name, power, and authority for God to operate through Christ and the believers that subscribe to Jesus. Requests are verbalized in the name of Christ which authorizes God to operate.
Yes, God is a Mind Reader, however that is not how the system is setup through prayer and authorized authority. Requests must be verbalized and formatted by the petitions Jesus gave. God does not provide multiple methods for anything specific.http://www.preachingtoday.com/sermons/sermons/2012/april/understandingpower.html
One can guarantee that violation of the aforementioned exists when believers or non-believers question God’s standards or there is a failure to understand why God does or does not operate in a particular fashion. Specifically there is a purpose to “study to show one approved, rightly dividing the word of truth”.
This clearly means there are those WRONGLY dividing the word of truth or those under the warning of Hosea 4:6 which states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
