It’s Dr. Phil to the rescue again and this time, he extends the offer of rehab to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, Kim Richards. Radar Online, April 21, 2015 reported that if she gives Dr. Phil an interview, he will give her help with her drinking problem.
Lt. Lincoln Hoshino told ABC News, Kim refused to leave the Beverly Hills Hotel and when the police arrived around 2 a.m., they allegedly found Kim taking refuge in the bathroom. However, when law enforcement arrested her, Kim didn’t go with them peacefully because she allegedly kicked an officer in the leg.
According to police records, Kim Richards speech was slurred and she swore at law enforcement. They charged Kim with public intoxication, resisting an officer, battery on an officer and trespassing.
According to a transcript obtained by People, 50-year-old Kim told Dr. Phil. “I was angry and frightened and I was scared. I knew what I had done. The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn’t drink.”
Bravo has been toying with the idea of including a clause in her contract that would require her to be sober. They believe it may help her to give up drinking and popping pills to get through the day if the result could get her fired off the show.
Another source told Radar Online, “They do not want to get rid of Kim on the show because she does so amazing for ratings, but they also think that keeping her on the air is not conducive to her well-being. The fame that this show has brought her has seemed to actually make her alcoholism worse instead of better because whenever you throw a lot of money and fame at someone who is already struggling with addiction issues, the situation can become incredibly volatile, as it has in her case.”
This isn’t the first time Kim has been in trouble with drinking and she has had several occurrences which caused her legal problems because she was drunk. Last year on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion, Kim admitted that she was an alcoholic and she allegedly went to rehab three times, but it hasn’t helped her to stay sober.
Kim Richards’s interview/intervention with Dr. Phil will air on April 28, and he will offer her the chance of rehab. Dr. Phil will extend the offer of paying the bill for her as well as choose the best rehab facility available.
One of the driving forces that may cause her to accept his offer is the wedding for her daughter Brooke and Kim does not want to miss the wedding. The source said, “Dr. Phil warned Kim her life was in danger because of her addiction to alcohol.”
Last month, Dr. Phil helped Nick Gordon enter rehab for help on his drinking and Xanax addition. Do you think that Kim will accept Dr. Phil’s offer of rehab? Tell why or why not in the comments section.
