I had the pleasure of meeting with Michele Burgess, the new advisor for high school junior and senior homeschoolers who would like to participate in the dual enrollment programs at The Master’s College in Newhall. Michele, a homeschool mom herself, is really excited to be able to guide and help homeschool parents as they navigate dual enrollment for their children. Dual enrollment is the term used to refer to high school students enrolled in college classes (dual enrollment in high school and college simultaneously). They have 2 options for dual enrollment, one online and one on campus. Read on to find more details.
Dual enrollment through The Master’s College Online is a way to empower parents and students to offset the cost of a Christian education. Classes are offered to high school students at the reduced rate of $450. Classes are offered every eight weeks, year round. These are rigorous college courses taught from a Biblical worldview. They are all online courses.

In addition to this online option, they also offer an Advanced Start Academic Program (ASAP). This program allows high school juniors and seniors who have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and minimum 1100 SAT (Critical Reading 600 Math 500) or 21 ACT to register for select undergraduate classes taught on campus at The Master’s College. The classes are $250 per semester unit. Obviously this opportunity is ideal for families living within a reasonable commuting distance. To apply, all incoming students must submit the following:
Admissions application form ( http://www.masters.edu/downloads )
$40 application fee
Current High School Transcript
ACT or SAT scores
Pastor recommendation form
Educator recommendation form
