The first half of 2015 has been relatively slow from a game releases standpoint. As the year goes on though, gaming will be prepping its biggest titles, some of which will aim for a fall 2015 release time frame.
The summer time is an extremely important time for all developers and publishers to share what they have been working on. E3 2015 is a site for many, many game announcements and reveals, and we fully expect this year’s show to bring some incredible surprises.
In the past few years, Microsoft has been extremely active with the games they have introduced and we expect nothing less at this year’s E3 2015. In a recent podcast from Inner Circle, Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg talked about E3 2015 and got into what gamers can expect when Microsoft launches their press conference on Monday, June 15.
“Expect a lot of surprises. Expect us to talk a lot about games. And if you’re an Xbox owner, I think you’re going to leave really, really, really happy in the investment you made. And if you’re undecided, we hope that you will look at what we deliver on games and want to buy an Xbox,” Greenberg said.
Xbox One owners already know they should be getting at least Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5 Guardians and Forza Motorsport 6 this coming holiday season. In the next few weeks, Xbox One gamers will also be getting their hands on Ori and the Blind Forest, but surely Microsoft has more in-store for fall of 2015, right?
It’s hard to say at this point because when you look at what they released last year, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection were the heavy hitters from an Xbox One exclusive standpoint. If the previously mentioned games above are indeed coming this Fall, then history would suggest it’s a bit surprising to see anymore Xbox One exclusives than Tomb Raider, Forza and Halo.
Personally, E3 press conferences should be thought of differently and the same model we’ve seen in the past should be shaken up with change. Who knows what Microsoft has in-store for E3 2015, but Greenberg talked about wanting to take a different route with their presser in June.
“We have some ideas to do some things different at E3 this year that we haven’t done before. I think we’re going to take a little bit of a different approach to E3 this year. But I feel really good about it. It’s been really exciting. I’m excited. I’ve seen a little bit of the future, and I’ve seen some of the farther future stuff which is pretty awesome, too,” Greenberg said.
E3 2015 is getting closer and closer by the day. With major announcements being anticipated from everyone involved in this year’s show, big things are bound to happen.
