Rob Kardashian desperately wants to lose weight and posted several throwback photos of himself on Instagram looking lean and buff as weight loss motivation. “Yes I’m fat now, so y’all haters can literally suck d*ck,” Kardashian wrote in the caption.
Rob, who has since deleted the photo, has kept a very low profile after gaining more than 70 pounds during the past three years.
The 5-foot-10 Kardashian, who reportedly weighs about 260 pounds, has made no secret of his struggle to slim down following his 70-pound weight gain.
Rob’s weight loss struggles have been a running theme on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” for the past three seasons. On a recent episode, Kardashian was shocked when blood tests revealed he was dangerously overweight and at risk of developing diabetes and kidney failure.
“Your liver is shutting down,” Rob’s mother, Kris Jenner, told him. “This is life-threatening at this point. You can only sustain this level of being unhealthy for so long.”
Kardashian began crying while undergoing laser treatment to remove stretch marks and several arm tattoos. “I don’t even want to sit down because of how fat I am,” Rob sobbed to Kris off-camera. “I don’t know what to do.”
Kris has since hired a nutritionist and fitness trainer to clean out Rob’s refrigerator and devise a diet and workout plan to get him healthy again. “It’s time for me to help Rob out, gain a little control, and get him a nutritionist and some help so he can get his health back together,” said Jenner.
Rob Has Low Serotonin and Battles Depression
Rob confessed that he really wants to lose weight for his health, because his father (the late attorney Robert Kardashian) died from esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59. “I have numbers that are freaking my whole family out,” said Rob. “My dad passed away super-early, so my sisters could never handle that again.”
Rob had a rippling physique when he first starred on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” in 2007. He remained in phenomenal shape until 2012, when he went through a public breakup with singer Rita Ora. The once athletic Kardashian has since gotten progressively heavier and is now obese.
Rob’s sisters, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, have all expressed concern that Rob’s weight gain has made him reclusive and extremely depressed. Kourtney recently remarked that Rob’s serotonin levels were dangerously low because of his poor diet and obesity.
Meanwhile, Kim has maintained her 56-pound weight loss by working out daily and following the Atkins diet, a low-carb, high-fat ketogenic-style diet, Celebrity Health reported. Kim said losing the baby weight was the hardest thing she had ever done, but also one of the most rewarding.
Rob Kardashian has not commented on his stepfather Bruce Jenner’s decision to undergo sex change surgery and become a woman, but the two are very close as the only men in the female-dominated Kardashian household. Bruce, 65, will reportedly come out as transgender and discuss his sex change on an upcoming reality series and TV interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer.
