Fifth Harmony, Bea Miller and Demi Lovato were among the several “X Factor” stars who were winners at the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards, which were presented on April 25 at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. Disney Channel will televise “Disney Channel Presents The Radio Disney Music Awards” at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT on April 26, 2015. Disney Channel star Zendaya hosted the show.
Fifth Harmony won the prizes for Best Music Group and Fiercest Fans. The five members of Fifth Harmony were presenters and also performed two songs at the event: a cover version of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” and Fifth Harmony’s latest single “Worth It.” Fifth Harmony came in third place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012.
Miller’s “Young Blood” won the award for Best Song to Rock Out to With Your BFF. Miller came in ninth place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012, when she was going by the name Beatrice Miller. As previously reported, Miller is one of the opening acts on Fifth Harmony’s “Reflection – The Summer Tour,” which goes across the U.S. from July to September 2015.
Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care” featuring Cher Lloyd took the prize for Best Collaboration. Lovato was a judge on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012 and 2013. Lloyd came in fourth place on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2010.
One Direction, the world’s best-selling act to emerge from “The X Factor” was nominated for several prizes at the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards, but did not win any.
Ariana Grande won the most awards (three) at the show. Becky G came in a close second, with two prizes.
Other performers at the show were Nick Jonas, Becky G, R5, Sabrina Carpenter, Natalie La Rose, Rachel Platten, Shawn Mendes, Sheppard and Tori Kelly. Presenters at the show included Ashley Benson, Raven-SymonĂ©, Carly Rae Jepsen, Debby Ryan, Chelsea Kane, stars from “Teen Beach 2,” “Sweet Suspense” (which came in 12th place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2013), Kelsea Ballerini, Laura Marano, Rachel Platten, stars from “Black-ish,” Rowan Blanchard, Ben Savage, Jacquie Lee, Olivia Holt, Dove Cameron, cast members from “Dancing with the Stars,” Brent Riviera, Jacob Whitesides, Hailee Steinfeld, Brooke Taylor, Candace Huckeba and stars from “The Fosters.”
