Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie will not be too exposed after all, it seems. Jamie Dornan recently talked about filming for the sexy upcoming film and shared that fans won’t be seeing much of his private parts in the adaptation of the bestselling novel. Gossip Cop News divulges on the details surrounding the lead star and his take on the erotic book’s transition to the silver screen this Sunday, November 2, 2014.
The issue may have been an important one to certain fans, but the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie will not be featuring any extreme nudity, including that of Christian Grey’s … member. For many viewers, this is of no serious significance, as sex is much more than just private parts, and “50 Shades” is vastly more complex than simple smut. Yet several sources are worried that the lack of seeing Jamie Dornan fully exposed will turn away some potential audiences. This writer doesn’t think so, but others disagree.
Jamie Dornan recently opened up in a new interview with a well-known media outlet, “The Guardian,” about his leading role as Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie. The star acknowledged that he’s not entirely sure where the part will lead him in terms of his overall career, but he is aware that “50 Shades” does have some preconceived notions regarding its content.
“Yeah, there is a huge intellectual snobbery about the book. And it comes from all the papers that I like to read. The Guardian is my home page on my laptop, and the other day I logged on innocently and there they were having a massive go at the trailer for Fifty Shades and I was thinking: ‘F***, this is not good.'” He let out a big laugh. “But what can I do? I understand why those kinds of papers would have preconceived ideas about what it is.”
According to Jezebel News this morning, his talk seemed pragmatic but nonetheless ready to see the film adaptation arrive in theaters. (“Fifty Shades of Grey” will have its long-awaited premiere on Valentine’s Day, 2015.) In support of his character Christian not being fully exposed to the public’s waiting eyes, Dornan seemed to agree with the decision not to have his private parts shown.
“You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out,” he said. “You don’t want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic.”
It appears that while sex will certainly be a major part of the film, it’s not going to be the primary focus, at least under Sam Taylor-Johnson’s supervision. Apparently, legal contracts within the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie team’s actor rights prevents certain “exposures” being made available to audiences.
“Sam is a very bright woman, so there might be some suggestive elements to it, but I haven’t seen it at this stage, so it is hard for me to say. I’m aware of what we shot, and it wasn’t as if we shot a film without any action,” added Jamie. “There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn’t be seeing my, um…”
Viewers can likely put in the missing word in his statement, though Jamie Dornan used “todger.”Are you disappointed that Christian Grey won’t be fully out in the open during the new movie’s adaptation early next year? Or do you agree that it’s only a minor point that won’t dissuade viewers? The official “Fifty Shades of Grey” trailer has already been viewed over 35 million times on YouTube, so it is safe to say the interest is there.
In related “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie news this week, there have been some concerns over chemistry issues between our Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Some sources are saying that Dakota Johnson isn’t coming off as “sexy” enough, though it’s likely she will be plenty attractive enough to draw in Jamie Dornan’s character when the film finally rolls around. Are you looking forward to “Fifty Shades of Grey?” What scene or character are you most excited about?
