Freddie Prinze Jr, 38, is expected to make a full recovery from his spinal surgery of November 20, to remove a large disk fragment compression on his vertebra. The procedure was similar to that performed on pro-wrestler John Cena had in 2008 to relieve pressure that had causing the weakening of a nerve leading to his right arm.
In the meantime, the actor, best known for his roles in “Scooby Doo, I Know,” She’s All That,” and I Know What You Did Last Summer and She’s All That,” has been having fun posting pictures of himself wearing a neck brace (dubbed “Robo-Neck”) on social media as he continues with physical therapy.
Though he claims to have “basically “retired from show business” (following an (unhappy experience during the 8th season of the show “24”) Prinze has acted in some guest spots on several TV series including “TheWitches if East End,” and “Bones,” as well as doing some voice-overs as the character Kanan for the animated Disney XD series “Star Wars Rebels.”
Prinze and his wife, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, have two children, 5-yearold Charlotte Grace and 2-year old Rocky James. Although he is taking pain killers and it will take him several weeks to recover from the surgery, he is expected to be well-enough to celebrate a (happier) Christmas with his family than he did this past Thanksgiving.
