Garth Brooks stopped promoting his new album on TV due to the events occurring in Ferguson, Mo but fellow Oklahoman Kristin Chenoweth has continued promoting her PBS special which airs Fri. Nov 28, 2014 at 8 p.m. on ch 11.1 KOED in Tulsa.
“Kristin Chenoweth: Coming Home” is an almost hour and half film of Kristin Chenoweth performing in her hometown of Broken Arrow which is a suburb of Tulsa. She performs in the Kristin Chenoweth Theater inside the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center. The theater was actually built in 2009 and officials tried three years to get Chenoweth to come back. She finally performed there in the summer of 2012. Her performance was before the controversy of “GCB” in which many of her hometown criticized her show as attacking Christianity. “Kristin Chenoweth: Coming Home” is directed by Kenny Ortega who was behind “High School Musical”.
Garth Brooks canceled appearances on the “Tonight Show” among other outlets. Kristin Chenoweth was scheduled for Nov. 25, 2014 on “The Talk” and the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”, Nov. 27, 2014 on “Tavis Smiley”, and Dec. 3, 2014 on “The Meredith Vieira Show” which airs 2 p.m. on ch 8.1 KTUL.
Ferguson, Mo became an issue due to riots in response to the current District Attorney Robert P. McCulloch refusing to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the death of Michael Brown. There is no statute of limitations for murder and double jeopardy doesn’t apply and the next DA could easily indict Wilson. Wilson testified that cigars were in Brown’s right hand and then claimed Brown hit Wilson with Brown’s right hand then Brown turned around and handed the cigars to his friend. The physical evidence does not support this statement because no cigars or debris from cigars were found in the police vehicle. Brown’s friend Dorian Johnson said that Wilson grabbed Brown and Brown handed the cigars [evidence] off to him which is much more believable. Wilson still has some support even though he let an alleged drug dealer walk free because he was apparently too scared to testify. Blacks however don’t have to wait until the DA is removed from office or Wilson loses support, since the equal protection clause determines that Black Americans have the same rights as Native Americans, blacks could sue to create their own territory separate from the state of Missouri with their own police force, casinos, and laws over drugs.
Kristin Chenoweth is scheduled to start a Broadway play opening March 3, 2015 with Peter Gallagher (the father on “The OC”) and Cousin Larry from “Perfect Strangers” Mark Linn Baker.
