Las Vegas saw something new last week Feb 18, 2015 at the Glamour and Glow Event put on by host Dave Soko at LAX Luxor Hotel and Casino. Wearable technology is now in demand. There were many creations of very original designs never seen before at this event. If one can imagine going to an EDM venue wearing any one of these designs, just imagine all the attention.
The event kicked off with a photo shoot of host Dave Soko surrounded by the fabulous models wearing all this new tech, glow body paint, and EDM fashion. If one can imagine fashion from the TV show Space 1999 and combine this with where we are now, one can see something far past 1999 fashion. So, we have accelerated fashion and design beyond designs once imagined for our future. This is our future. We can create to be where we want to be. The technology is here now. The sky is the limit with a simple combination of LED lights, a microcontroller, some Arduino programming, and any combination of fabrics.
After the photo shoot of Dave Soko, the focus shifted to the models on the runway. The runway was the stage at LAX. The stage was glowing. Everything from detailed paintings on the body, extremely glowing and sparkling eye shadow, very colorful LEDs, and new iridescent fabrics were on display. Both male and female models were displaying new looks catering to the specialized world of EDM fashion. The combination of black light A/V stage lighting with the stunning glowing body paint was spectacular. The glowing body paint in combination with LEDs and iridescent fabrics amidist the black light lighting took the excitement to new heights. Sponsors include: blacklight.com (paint and accessory products), Pro Air body painting by Show Offs Body Art, and Glowbys (fiber optic hair extensions). Original clothing designs were created by Haus of Flash, Nicole Muse, and Rebee Marie (bright yellow designs).
After the fashion show, the night kicked into high gear with a large dance party including all runway models. There was an amazing performance by an EDM dancer covered in mirrors. The lights were reflecting everywhere and the dancer shined to whatever colors were reflected from RGB spot light beams. A special dance was performed by EDM performance artist DJ Unique Styles with her newest wardrobe. “She has been instrumental in coordinating events and getting things rolling,” said host Dave Soko. The main purpose was to display the latest in EDM fashion of the dancer or DJ.
