Some have called the 21st century the turning point in the history of humankind and the “century of the environment”. As the magnitude of our impact on the ecological systems of the planet has become painfully apparent, there is increased realization of the intimate connections between our ecosystems and human health, the economy, social justice, and even national security. And in this current climate, governments can no longer assume that social challenges such as pollution, diminishing natural resources and climate change impact can be ignored. Never more than today are governments needed in order to help preserve our world’s delicate balance for future generations.
Government can play a key role in building our green future, community by community, through policy, research, education, incentive programs and action-oriented relationships with industry. And now more than ever, in this age of innovative technologies, the prospect for creating a successful marriage between government policy and cleantech innovations stands at the dawning of solutions that can carry us into a much brighter future.
It is with this in mind that Green California Summit Returns to Sacramento April 7-8 to be held at the Sacramento Convention Center. Now in its ninth year, the Green California Summit presents an annual opportunity for stakeholders from the public and private sectors to share innovations in policy, practice and technology with a focus of helping California attain its environmental and economic goals.
The Summit not only includes keynote presentations and educational sessions, as well as networking opportunities, but also includes an Expo featuring green products and services.
