A Daily Word from the Word for Monday, April 27, 2015
“The place in the Scripture which he read was this: ‘He [Jesus] was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He opened not His mouth.’” – Acts 8:32
Some months ago, the Lord led me to this verse, and said “this is why many of My people, My children, have not received their breakthrough. They are stuck functioning at the place of ‘He opened not His mouth,’ rather than operating at the place of ‘It is finished’ (John 19:30).”
Is this you, family? Are you still silent on coming into agreement with what God has already decreed, declared, and established concerning you and for you? Some of us are still looking for Jesus in an empty tomb when God’s Holy Spirit keeps trying to get us to see that “He isn’t here. He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:6).
So why can two people confess the same Word of God, and one is able to move mountains, and the other isn’t moving a thing? The answer lies in the source which you attached your agreement to. It is not the words themselves, it is what those words are infused with, determined by where they are plugged into. Just like the identity of a glass is determined by its content (a glass of milk, a glass of orange juice, et cetera), the authority and power of the intent and assignment of our words is determined by the place (or source) where we speak them from.
If you are speaking from a place of not believing that Jesus already completed the finished work on the Cross, from this place of “He opened not His mouth” then the source, the authority and power of agreement of your words will be filled with incomplete silence, still waiting for the Savior to take captivity captive (Ephesians 4:8).
But when you infuse the power of agreement with God’s Word from a high place, seated with Him in Heavenly places, then watch your expectancy leap and manifest with the substance of Heaven itself! (Ephesians 2:4-7, Hebrews 11:1). The wonder-working, miracle-producing, power from on High will electrify your confession so that the gates of hell will not be able to prevail against you! (Matthew 16:18).
God desires us to operate from this place of “It is finished,” where His Son, Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of Man, prevailed over the devil for us once and for all. This is a place where all authority has already been made available and given to every born-again believer to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). It is a place of supreme son-ship, made possible only through our Big Brother, Lord and Savior, the First-born Son, Jesus. It is a position of authority and power, where we co-reign with Christ, where we are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath (2 Timothy 2:12, Deuteronomy 28:13).
Let us stop looking for God do something, when He has already done it, and stop waiting for Him to speak when He has already spoken. Let us go higher in Him to that place of “It is finished”; because to remain silent is to let a rock take your place in exalting His Holy Name (Luke 19:40).
Father, we repent staying stuck in “He opened not His mouth” when You desire us to come with You to “It is finished.” Help us to no longer look in an empty tomb, because He has risen, just as He said! Endue us with Your Power from on High, Most Holy God! Usher us into this higher calling, this higher place where Christ has already conquered sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:57). In Jesus Name, we thank You that we are seated with Him in Heavenly places, co-ruling with Your Divine authority and power. Amen and Amen!
Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to walk in your God-given authority and power of Jesus Christ. Choose to move from that place of “He opened not His mouth, to “It is finished.” Determine to speak what God has spoken concerning you and your life. And continue to fight the good fight of choosing not to remain silent; for God, your Great I AM, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
