by Maverick Pet Transportation and Rescue
Good evening friends. Spike is back in boarding after his heartworm treatment yesterday. He is doing amazingly well with all that he has encountered since he came into our rescue.
We still need funds to help him get thru the next 30 days in boarding. Hopefully, he will be ready to be adopted soon. Here is the link if you can help! He looks so good now!
UPDATE: RESCUE ALERT- SPIKE went to a wonderful rescue in Charlotte, NC this morning! 12/01/2014

Spike is a handsome, housetrained young labrador retriever. According to the Animal Protection Society of Caswell County, in Yanceville, NC, Spike is an owner turn in. His family relocated and could not take along this family member, even after his heroic actions.
He is more than just a handsome face. Reportedly, Spike saved a little boy from dying in a housefire. The small rural shelter has limited space, but is trying their best to find him a new place to live, and a new family to share their home with Spike the wonderdog. They believe that this hero dog deserves a wonderful new owner, and shouldn’t end his life at a killshelter. They have volunteers who have been posting out his information for the past few weeks, but sadly, no adoptive family has stepped in for this great labbie.
You can sponsor Spike, to make it easier for a rescue to pull him from the shelter and give him more of a chance and more time to find a new home and family. Or you can just go to the shelter and adopt him right off the floor!
Their adoption rates are quite nominal! Animal Protection Society of Caswell County is located at 836 County Home Road behind the Caswell County DMV building. Detailed directions are available on their website.
