When I first moved to New Mexico a couple years ago, I quickly learned about El Pinto Restaurant as a place to go for local color and character, dependable service and for great food. After one visit I was hooked and since then make it a point to take my son there at least once when he comes home from university studies during the holidays. In fact, this is where he first tried sopapillas and green chiles and has come to cherish both. Now he enjoys the guacamole dip – voted “Best Guacamole” in Albuquerque by Albuquerque The Magazine – and usually orders a green chile queso burger. My usual order is either chile con carne enchiladas, a house specialty made with flat or rolled corn tortillas and filled with pork marinated in El Pinto’s fresh red chile, or their famous El Pinto red chile ribs. A signature dish and El Pinto original recipe, it consists of baby back ribs marinated in red chile and slow baked so it falls off the bone. This is a favorite with many, as are the salsas.
Not too long ago I found out that El Pinto actually makes their own salsa and even has a packaging plant on the premises. Their salsa products are in such hot demand that they ship them to all 50 states, Canada, and even international destinations through phone support. Specials have just been announced for the holidays and can be ordered from the El Pinto website or from Amazon for a deal on their hot green chile sauce. You can also purchase selected products at the restaurant which is conveniently located 10 minutes from the I-40 and I-25 interchange just off Interstate 40 and 2 miles west at the Tramway/Roy exit on 4th Street. (Many grocery stores also stock their products).
Be sure to pick up some Black Friday sales online for El Pinto salsa and chile products. You can mix and match whatever you want while enjoying $1 off each jar and free shipping for orders over $50. Save on the Mixed Variety Pack of five El Pinto’s salsa products so that you can try their salsa in mild, medium, and hot. Mix however you like.
For those looking for something new, El Pinto has just introduced a new salsa with an added kick for hot chile lovers. Wild & Fiery Smokey Chipotle Salsa is great for dipping chips, slathering on burgers, or just adding a kick to any dish. Whether you order mild, medium, or hot and whether you prefer green chiles or red, there is definitely a salsa to appeal to every palate.
