If you’ve had the radio or the television on in the past couple of days, you’ve probably heard advertisements for Home Depot’s newest promotion, entitled “Spring Black Friday.” True to form, Home Depot is promising that if you simply go into one of their stores and turn over your paycheck or your tax refund, you too can have a home that embodies the beauty of the American Dream. As usual, Home Depot continues to describe a quick fix to all of your gardening and landscaping needs with the simple solution of using Monsanto’s herbicide, “Round-Up.” Home Depot sells and promotes the dangerous herbicide, but also uses it on all of the plants that they sell. That means that even if you don’t buy or use “Round-Up,” you will still be contaminating your garden if you plant something that was bought at Home Depot.
The Fortune 500 Company that is Home Depot is linked to the mega conglomerate Monsanto like two toxic peas in a pod. Home Depot continues to exalt the benefits of “Round-Up” despite the fact that science has proven the chemicals in this herbicide are killing off the earth as we know it. For more on this, see the following link-
The major chemical in Round-Up is called Glyphosate, and it is used so widely that in America it has been found not only as a residue left in the earth, but it has also permeated our air and water supply. In a terrifying turn that sounds like it’s right out of a Ray Bradbury Science- Fiction novel, the chemical has also recently been found in samples of American Mothers’ breast-milk.
In Britain, scientists recently discussed some of the dangers found to be linked to “Round-Up.” According to these findings, ingestion of this chemical (whether it be through inhalation or digestion,) has been found to cause:
Harm to beneficial gut bacteria, leading to leaky gut, irritable bowel syndrome Chrohn’s disease, celiac disease, and gluten intolerance.
Exposure to Glyphosate and Genetically Modified Organisms treated with this chemical have also been linked to:
Premature aging, reproductive failure, immune system failure, infertility, and birth defects.
With these findings being reported in the United Kingdom, it might be just a matter of time before Monsanto and its genetically modified monsters are permanently outlawed, as they have been in 19 other countries.
Yet America continues to embrace ignorance and denial when it comes to Monsanto and the harmful chemicals that it produces. This is likely due to the fact that many of our politicians have been bought by Monsanto, and these people in power continue to pledge allegiance to the mega-conglomerate rather than to the people of the United States. For more information about the links between Monsanto and current politicians in power, see the following links-
Some Americans continue to shop at Home-Depot because ignorance is bliss. They either don’t know or don’t care that Monsanto is killing off the world bee population and poisoning our ecosystem as a whole. To be fair, it is difficult to keep up to date on the latest chemical warfare that is being waged by Monsanto, because they come up with new and deadlier products all the time. One of the more recent is a product called “Xtend.” For more information about this toxic nightmare, see the following link-
Yet there are other people who are probably well aware of the evil that Monsanto does, and yet they continue to shop at Home Depot simply because it has such a monopoly on hardware and home products that in some areas it might seem impossible to shop elsewhere. Home Depot, like Walmart, moves into small towns and suburbs, selling items in bulk and thereby being able to offer items at a lower price than the friendly corner hardware store can provide.
So while Monsanto is killing off small family farms, stores like Home Depot are killing off small family businesses. If we allow this pattern to continue to spiral out of control, we will be looking at a country where there will be no small businesses and no self-employed, only millions of drones owned by the mega-rich who represent less than 1% of our population.
If you would like to see America return to the ideals of “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” one of the major things you can do is to put your money into small, family owned businesses, rather than feeding the MonsantoHomeDepotWalmart monster that is rapidly devouring our country.
