On Saturday Donald Trump spoke at the First in the Nation Republican Leadership Summit. Before speaking that day, Trump held a brunch where he addressed local activists and Granite Staters. He gave a speech and then took questions from the attendees who ranged from people wanting to get to know Trump more to those who are already supporters.
During an interview Trump says he will make the country rich again. He will not cut social security or Medicare because he won’t have to. When asked how he would bring jobs back to the country, one of his ideas is to stop China from influencing their currency. Because China has been able to do this, the United States has made bad decisions and it has put the U.S. in a very bad position.
When asked how quickly jobs could be brought back into the U.S., Trump said it could happen very quickly. He would have the greatest negotiators involved that would not allow the U.S to get short-changed again. Trump comes off as very “populist” in his speeches and discussion. He says the things people want to hear and seems to have a plan of attack on how to make them happen.
When it’s pointed out that no other candidates are claiming to get jobs back into the U.S., Trump’s response is stated in the manner Trump is known for, short and to the point without holding back:
Because they are politicians, all they do is talk. They don’t know what they’re talking about.
He believes that others will be talking about China and bringing jobs back eventually as well and pick up his message in a couple of months but “won’t be able to do anything about it.”
Trump boils it down to something that many people within politics and political activism certainly understand:
It’s all a deal. It’s one big fat juicy deal and thousands of little deals and we lose every single one of them.
He believes it’s a message that has caught on which is why he gets standing ovations when he speaks. His campaign theme is “Make America Great Again” and many people feel the same way.
Trump has set up teams in the key states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. He has some decisions to make and when he does finally make the big decision, he says people are going to be very surprised. Trump is definitely different in person than on your television screens. He seems larger than life in that electronic box but in person he comes off as a regular guy who happens to be brilliant in business. He seems sincere in his message and that is gaining the attention of some voters across the Granite State. One thing is for certain, there is never a dull moment when Trump is around.
