Israel is totally alone in the Middle East.
Any respectability to the supposed peace process evaporated officially yesterday when an American jury found the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority (PA) guilty of backing a series of terrorist attacks and killed or wounded Americans during the early 2000s in Israel.
Israel has always complained about the expectation of being forced to sit at the negotiation table with terrorist elements committed to Israel’s destruction and yesterday’s ruling etched in stone by empirical evidence that that the Palestinian Authority cannot be trusted with its criminal connections.
Does the Obama Administration still expect Israel to negotiate peace with the PA? Only if America can sit down with al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, or the Taliban to negotiate its future. The absolutely lunacy of American foreign policy with Israel was clearly exposed with the judicial ruling against the PA.
Naturally the PA’s Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Mahmoud Khalife called the verdict “a tragic disservice”, however notice this statement did not come from the PA’s acting leader Mahmoud Abbas who is currently the president of the Palestinian State and last official leader of the Palestinian Authority. The PA probably thought it best that comments should not come from Abbas who provided funds to help finance Black September’s Munich massacre during the 1972 Olympics.
Abbas has claimed he did not know the money would be used for terrorism. This is the same guy that had Israel erased from a map used in a meeting.
This backdrop is what the current administration expects Israel to have full confidence and truth to negotiate further concessions which includes giving up additional land in Jerusalem and Golan Heights. How would America feel if we were expected to give the Rocky Mountains to al-Qaeda without concern for our security?
Gaza is already a base for terrorist operations as rockets provided to Hamas from Iran continue to rain down on Israel on a daily basis. Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy terrorist group, continues its agenda of kidnapping and harassment from Lebanon. Yes, and Israel is also expected to have meaningful talks with Iran.
The funding to the Palestinian Authority, which was used to construct a network of tunnels for terrorist activity into Israel, are being systematically replaced by new tunnels with building material from both American and Israeli sources.
The United States government in spite of all the laws forbidding the participation with terrorist organizations continues to fund the Palestinian Authority even though an American court has found the PA guilty of supporting terrorism in Israel. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/patrick-goodenough/israel-deeply-disappointed-us-will-fund-palestinian-hamas-unity-govt
The policy of America regarding the Middle East peace process has become an irrational journey of clinging to precarious hope instead of waking up to the brutal reality of facts. It is not surprising President Benjamin Netanyahu does not share in the Fantasyland politics of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry regarding history and current reality of the Holy Land.
The timing of President Netanyahu coming to Congress next month uninvited by the White House and speaking could not be a worst moment for those insisting that Israel forget about reality and embrace the concept of peace in spite of the obvious dangers of negotiating with an enemy looking to ultimately destroy you.
The American people in the last election already repudiated much of the Obama Administration’s policies considered central to the liberal platform, and the foreign policy plank on Israel is the most controversial to voters than any other policy from the 2008 election, that which was disclosed anyway.
America’s policy with Israel has suffered complete failure and is in the worst condition in memory based on the negativity leaked on Netanyahu and unreasonable expectations our administration currently has with the only democratic government in the Middle East. Contentious examples of animosity towards Netanyahu and Israel have emanated from the administration during the six years of Obama’s tenure. Many liberal groups have picked up on this ill feeling and have implemented more anti-Israel action than any other time in history, even in progressive religious organizations.
What Netanyahu has to say with the latest fiasco concerning the criminal action of the Palestinian Authority and our current policy in the peace process should make the White House nervous.http://dailysignal.com/2015/01/22/netanyahus-address-congress-powerful-antidote-obamas-appeasement-iran/
