Jane Fonda still has hot sex and a bangin’ bod at 77, thanks to her lifelong dedication to a healthy diet and regular exercise. With her usual candor, Fonda revealed she still occasionally smokes pot and credits plastic surgery for her age-defying good looks.
Unlike other celebrities who deny going under the knife, Fonda admits plastic surgery (along with daily workouts and a low-carb diet) has kept her looking her best.
“People always say, ‘How do you stay looking so blah-blah-blah?’ ” Jane told DuJour Feb. 17. “I’ve had plastic surgery. I’ve talked about that. That doesn’t matter.”
Fonda had a facelift in her 40s and another one in February 2010. She also got breast implants when she was younger and recently had a chin lift as well as surgery to remove the bags under her eyes.
While her age-defying looks have kept her in the headlines, Jane said what truly matters is improving with age and facing getting older with confidence.
“What matters is realizing you can always get better,” said Fonda. “That you have to keep taking leaps of faith. It gets harder as you get older. You have to stay brave and keep trying to go beyond your comfort zone and see what you need to get to become who you’re supposed to be.”
Seven Years of Celibacy Followed By Hot Sex
Fonda made the realization that you don’t stop growing because you reach a certain age in 2001, after she left her third husband, CNN founder Ted Turner. Turner was stunned Jane wanted a divorce because he told her, “People aren’t supposed to change after 60.”
Fonda thought about Ted’s words but realized they didn’t apply to her at all. Despite getting older, Jane had no desire to slow down and get decrepit with age.
“I think about that all the time,” Jane recalled. “He has hardly changed, and I feel like a different human being.”
Fonda remained celibate for seven years after leaving Turner and then shocked the world after announcing that at 74, she was having the best sex of her life with her new boyfriend, music producer Richard Perry. Richard and Jane are still dating and remain happier than ever.
“With Richard, I feel totally secure,” Jane said in 2012. “Often, when we make love, I see him as he was 30 years ago. At 74, I have never had such a fulfilling sex life. When I was young I had so many inhibitions. I didn’t know what I desired.”
Stays Fit With Low-Carb Diet, Meditation and Yoga
Jane is able to stay youthful and vigorous because of her longtime dedication to health and fitness. Fonda’s anti-aging beauty and fitness secrets are exercise, a low-carb diet and meditation, Celebrity Health reported.
“I’m careful what I eat,” said Jane. “I eat fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and chicken. I stay away from desserts. I try to minimize the carbs and stay away from sugars. And most importantly, I meditate. I started when I was approaching 70. It reduces stress and anxiety and it keeps me centered and grounded.”
Fonda, who battled anorexia, bulimia and poor body image during her 20s, 30s and 40s, has adopted more laid-back approach to fitness now that she’s older. Over the years, Jane transitioned away from the rigorous, high-impact aerobic exercise she extolled during the 1980s to gentler, lower-impact workouts.
Fonda does yoga, strength-trains, walks, cycles, and uses the elliptical trainer. Like many fitness fanatics, Jane exercises not only to look good, but to feel great.
“I know what exercise has done to my life profoundly — not just my body, but my mind,” Jane said. “It’s important to exercise when you’re younger. It’s the No. 1 ingredient for successful aging.”
