Jessa Duggar will marry Ben Seewald today and they will finally be allowed to kiss. Side-hugging and hand holding will no longer be required and the couple will, for the first time, be able to get “chest to chest” and have sex on their wedding night.
Can we expect to see a Seewald pregnancy announcement shortly after the couple ties the knot? Considering Jessa wants to have “more than 19” babies, it’s highly likely that a honeymoon baby will be conceived.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar delete same-sex kissing photos from Facebook page, ban gays from posting
With sex, comes babies, for those who haven’t studied the birds and the bees, and if you’re a married Duggar, there will be lots of it. Jessa is prepared for the end result of all of that sex, telling US Weekly, “My mom has a bunch of pregnancy test at her house.”
Jessa’s mother is a big proponent of having “lots of sex” once married, so even if Jessa takes precautions so she won’t get pregnant on her honeymoon, she will be free to have as much sex as she wants if she follows her mother’s advice. In an interview with Today, Michelle states that a good wife should be “available when he calls” — a piece of advice that she took from a friend when she married Jim Bob in 1984.
“In your marriage there will be times you’re going to be very exhausted. Your hubby comes home after a hard day’s work, you get the baby to bed, and he is going to be looking forward to that time with you. Be available. Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls.'”
Whether or not Jessa will use contraception on her wedding night is not known, but she has stated that she would like to adopt some of her future children, so it’s a possibility. Her mother and father, Michelle and Jim Bob did when they were first married in 1984, with E! reporting that the newlyweds used birth control pills to delay having children.
After their son, Josh was born in 1988, they tried birth control again, but Michelle conceived, and miscarried, while on the pill. After that, the ditched contraception and let the good times roll, having 18 more children between 1990 and 2009.
Jessa and Ben will get married on Saturday, November 1 at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. TLC will air the wedding on the next season of “19 Kids and Counting” but fans can watch the newlyweds’ pre-recorded engagement special on November 4 on TLC.
