Sounds like the Katy Perry, Taylor Swift feud is back with plans of a Super Bowl “diss” set against the “Blank Space” singer. Talk of lyrical revenge on Perry’s end is being rumored this week from several celebrity news sources, while Star Pulse shares this Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, that an insider is saying the “California Girls” crooner is ready to prove she is the top female act in the world. A “jab” has been cited in one of her lyrics, so fans of both talented women will no doubt be listening closely to the upcoming performance.
Although the two starlets might have seemed like best friends in the past, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are alleged to have been on bad terms with one another for the past couple of years. It seems that a lyrical diss might be made by Katy in the latest attempt to find evidence of their rumored feud. Could the jab via song be revenge on the “Unconditionally” singer’s part after some claim Taylor’s “1989” song, “Bad Blood,” was about her?
Quite a few pop music listeners certainly think so. All of the catty rumors between these massive celebrities have come to a head this week, adds Yahoo! News, thanks to a Hollywood insider claiming that this year’s Super Bowl will not be one to miss. Apparently, Swift should be ready for Katy to make this year’s show her biggest one yet and prove herself as the queen of pop — both here in the U.S. nation and across the globe.
“Katy is in complete rehearsal mode for her Super Bowl performance, she wants to make it feel like a complete party and something that will be remembered for ever,” said the source. “She wants to make a statement with her performance and show that she is the biggest female act in the world and she wants to show that to everyone, including Taylor, who she has a feud with. In Katy’s eyes, no one can compete on her level. Katy will be doing something on stage during her performance that will be directed towards Taylor … She is working on it to be a visual or a lyric-related jab.”
Talk about some heated talk adding fuel to the Katy Perry, Taylor Swift feud fire. But as the rumored fighting continues, is there any real truth to it? Swift did confirm that one of her new songs, “Bad Blood,” was about another singer in showbiz — and she was female. People immediately thought that the “Shake It Off” star might have been suggesting Perry. The subject of the song was called a “straight-up enemy” that had gone so far as to sabotage her on tour.
While Taylor Swift failed to ever reveal the namesake of the song, the diss was no doubt implied, and Katy Perry might have taken the message personally. Shortly afterwards, Katy took to Twitter to write a strange message that fans in turn thought was directed toward her rumored friend-into-enemy: “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…” Viewers of the hit movie, “Mean Girls,” will know what that means. Is there a connection? Do you believe there is a lyrical jab coming for the blonde star at the 2015 Super Bowl performance?
