Khloe Kardashian, who recently lost 13 pounds on a dairy-free diet, credited her split from estranged husband Lamar Odom for her fitness dedication and weight loss. Khloe said she worked out to cope with her depression over her failed marriage.
“When me and Lamar were having issues, I decided to channel my energy into working out,” Kardashian told Cosmo. “If I went out with my girlfriends I would be hounded by paparazzi and made to feel more humiliated. The gym was my only refuge. I could put music on and dance around with my girlfriends and be silly.”
Khloe married Odom in 2009 and filed for divorce in 2013, but the couple is still married. Kardashian feels great after losing 13 pounds recently by following a dairy-free diet and doing corset waist training.
“I used to not watch what I ate,” said Khloe. “I would just kind of eat whatever. I was realizing, ‘I work out all the time. Why can’t I drop this weight?’ It’s really food. So I started dieting a little. I don’t eat dairy anymore, or I try not to, because I’m addicted to cheese!”
Kardashian makes sure she drinks at least five liters (or 20 cups) of water a day and works out five days a week. Khloe also claims corset waist training flattened her abs, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported. While it sounds odd, waist training or the “Corset Diet,” is a weight loss trend some women use to winnow down their bellies.
Kim Kardashian revealed she wore a tight corset to bed every night to make her waist smaller ahead of her May 2014 wedding to Kanye West. Kim credited waist training and a low-carb ketogenic Atkins diet for her 56-pound weight loss just six months after giving birth.
While Khloe’s sister Kourtney Kardashian has admitted getting breast implants, Khloe said she wouldn’t use plastic surgery to reduce her body fat or boost her self-esteem.
“I’m not against plastic surgery,” said Khloe. “If you want to do a tweak, I’m all for it, but you have to love yourself first because no surgery is going to change your heart. It would have been such an easy solution to get liposuction, but you have to be healthy to maintain that. I’ve always felt like ‘Wouldn’t it be great to accomplish that on your own?'”
Kardahian’s weight has fluctuated dramatically over the years, but she says she’s comfortable with her body, whether she gains or loses weight.
“Now on my Instagram page people comment saying ‘I liked you better when you were bigger,'” said Khloe. “And I think, ‘Thank God I don’t live my life for other people because I’d be in a constant tug of war.”
