“Killing Floor 2” is now available for PC via Steam Early Access. Tripwire Interactive’s highly anticipated co-op sci-fi horror FPS game has finally been released in early access following the success of the original “Killing Floor”. The game had a pre-Early Access beta period which came to a close on April 16, 2015. The wait to slaughter the Zed Horde is finally over.
Although it’s only available in Early Access, “Killing Floor 2” has an abundance of content. The new game enables up to 6-player co-op in addition to solo play, as well as a whole arsenal of weapons to choose from. The Early Access version of “Killing Floor 2” will include 3 non-linear levels,the dark streets of Burning Paris, the ice covered Outpost, and a re-imagined version of the original Biotics Lab, to lay waste to.
“With the Early Access release of KILLING FLOOR 2, we’re starting with a really fun core game,” said John Gibson, President of Tripwire Interactive. “We’re looking forward to dialing in that fun with community feedback during Early Access, and of course expanding that experience with awesome free content!”
Players who participate in “Killing Floor 2”’s Early Access will get a chance to lend their feedback to the developers and get some of the earliest looks into what the final game will be like. The Early Access launch has 4 perks (Berserker, Support, Commando and Medic classes), 27 weapons of all sorts including makeshift hybrids, 11 different types of Zeds and 7 playable characters Including fan favorites Mr. Foster and Constable Rob Briar as well as a new female character named Ana Larive.
The Early Access launch of “Killing Floor 2” will also have one new boss to battle. His name is Hans Volter and he comes with a dangerous arsenal of weapons and attacks. Early Access players will also have access to Mod SDK that supports custom level creation.
Early Access players will be rewarded with a slew of free content that they will get to carry over into “Killing Floor 2”s full release. “Killing Floor 2” will receive a full release at a later date and anticipated to be released on PS4 later in 2015. The game has not yet been rated but an ‘M’ for mature is expected.
The Steam Early Release is available now for PC and costs $29.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition of “Killing Floor 2” early Access costs $39.99 and includes: DJ Scully character with unique voice pack and set of face/body skins, additional cosmetic items for different playable characters, “Killing Floor 2” Soundtrack, “Killing Floor 2” Digital Artbook and a copy of “Killing Floor” the original game.
